Usain Bolt Slams Critics Of His Dancehall Venture After Police Dropped DRM Case

Usain Bolt is hitting back at critics who he insinuates are ungrateful for his many contributions to Jamaica while only having a problem with him because he has entered the dancehall forum.

The video comes a day after disclosures by the police that a pending case against Usain Bolt for breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act for his surprise birthday party last year was dropped. Many persons reacted with anger and disappointment that the sprint legend seemed to be getting some preferential treatment while his counterparts, like Beenie Man, is facing the consequences for a similar breach.

Usain Bolt, however, is reminding his critics of his overall contributions to the country as he insinuates that nobody had a problem with him doing things for Jamaica in other sectors, but they have a problem with him contributing to dancehall/reggae music.

In a video shared on his Instagram account, Bolt is seen vibing to a new song voiced by veteran dancehall deejay Baby Cham who criticizes the government’s reaction to the Covid-19 virus. The lyrics of the song says many are tired of the measures against the virus as the pandemic brings undue hardship, which Baby Cham addresses.

“Can’t chat to mi friend only phone and video link / Can’t go a Helshire go eat or have a drink / Can’t get fi hustle so we revenue shrink / You want the people dem a get pushed to the brink / So we drink, nothin’ else nuh deh fi do but go crazy / Leaders who need fi listen and nuh taze we / Don’t forget ah vote fi you, do, it amaze mi / Wonder if a care if unu care or if a unu lazy / Months and months dem ah say fi stay home / Can’t go a barber, fi weeks mi hair nuh comb,” Cham deejays.

The track star is the latest among sportsmen pursuing a career in music which includes the links of DJ Bravo, Kyle Butler, Marlon Samuels, Chris Gayle, and others.

Bolt, however, has taken issue with those who criticize him. His caption accompanying the song from Baby Cham asked why people had a problem with him.

“Usain Bolt contributes to Sports – No Problem

Usain Bolt contributes to Food/Cuisine – No Problem

Usain Bolt contributes to Education – No Problem

Usain Bolt contributes to Health – No Problem

Usain Bolt contributes to Finance – No Problem

Usain Bolt Contributes to Dancehall/Reggae Music – PROBLEM!

Why?

Usain Bolt contributes to Agriculture – No Problem

Usain Bolt Contributes to Commerce/Technology – No Problem.

Usain Bolt Contributes to Employment – No Problem

Usain Bolt Contributes to Secuirty – No Problem

Usain Bolt Contributes to Dancehall/Reggae Music- PROBLEM!

Why?”

Meanwhile, Dovey Magnum sought to sympathize with Bolt under the post as she related, “as a producer you feel like that…try being a artist with natural talent and vocals.”

Bolt also received nods from Teejay, who echoed his question and commented, “why??”.

While many of his commenters supported him, some took a different view of Bolt’s post.

One person wrote, “Usain Bolt has a massive ego and talks about himself in the 3rd person – problem.”

Another said, “you are too intelligent to support rubbish like this bro. Jamaica isn’t the only place that has lockdown/covid 19 measures in place. The govt didn’t put these measures in place ‘to fight poor people’ or fight anyone for that matter. We need fi stop promote shit that drives strife and divisiveness within our society. Do bettah mi bredda.”

Among Bolt’s critics are OVO superstar Popcaan who seemed to have ruffled the feathers of Bolt after he told Bolt to stick to track and field and leave music to the more talented youths. Popcaan’s response was to Bolt’s feature on a song where he attempted to emulate a DJ Khaled type presence on his friend Nugent’s song. Fans were disappointed that he did not sing as they expected some vocals since he credited the song with his name as an artist.

Diamond hitting like Mayweather
Big bank like Mayweather

Diamond hitting like Mayweather
Big bank like Mayweather
Was broke now i’m doing way better
I see more money than a bank teller

But I ain’t dealing with him if he a broke nigga hating without a bezel
Yeah bitch we the clan
We’ll spin a nigga like a fan
I ain’t need a helping hand got it out the mud I ain’t play with sand
They call me the man, And i’m dirty like that nigga Dan
They tryna put me in the can, I guess i’m on the run again

Well, I guess i’m on the run again
I ain’t wanna do it but I told them crackers gotta catch me if you can
I just gave em 50 thousand cash now they tryna take me again
Well I ain’t going to the pin, Bitch i’m going for the win
And i’m on the run, Bitch i’m Usain Bolt
Used to do this for fun, Can teach a p*ssy boy the road
Yeah, Can I just have my son, They tried to make me miss his birth
And i’m on the run, But I was in there chilling with the nurse
And don’t be a fool
They call me Foo I ain’t no fool
And they tryna get me
They put me all up on the news, Why
Just for a pistol, Please don’t get this shit confused
And that bed had lice, What the f*ck i’m supposed to do

Diamond hitting like Mayweather
Big bank like Mayweather
Was broke now i’m doing way better
I see more money than a bank teller

Usain Bolt Readies Debut EP & Plans To Take Dancehall Career International

Olympian Usain Bolt is known worldwide for his athletic feats on the track. However, in the past few months, he seems content since his retirement to hang up his spikes from one track to start laying down some musical ones instead.

In an interview with Zip, he explained that he is preparing to drop some new tracks, and he also divulged the impending release of his 1st EP. Usain Bolt expressed that he is quite serious about music, and it’s his goal to be not only relevant in the Jamaican market but also the international one.

“Well music, music-wise we are working on some new riddims to drop out to drop, soon, knowing the whole pandemic we’re not trying to rush anything we’re taking our time to make sure the music comes out at the right time so that’s the focus we also have an EP that we are working on so that should be something interesting and also to look out for,” he mentioned.

He continues: “That’s the major goal yuh nu to try to get not only dominate the Jamaican market but also to get into the international market, but as I say earlier it takes time we’re just trying to get a foothold, trying to make people understand that we’re not just here joking around we are serious about the music so we’re just gonna take our time just like in track and field, it’s all about its work and dedicating and just taking our time. We don’t want to rush into anything make any mistakes so we wanna take our time we will get there we believe in ourselves and we believe in the product we put out there.”

This revelation is certainly met with shock and awe by some, while others find it to be no surprise. The legendary track star is definitely determined in his endeavors as he seems to not let his efforts be thwarted by negative comments, even if they are taken from the mouths of popular entertainers. Just a few weeks ago Usain teased his new single, “Living The Dream,” which features his long-time friend and manager Nugent’ NJ’ Walker on his Instagram page. Usain Bolt captioned that post, “Ok my Ppl I understand my verse flew by so fast. I wonder if it’s because I’m the fastest man alive. Ok for the next song I’m going to try slow down my verse so u’ll can hear.”

Unfortunately, it seems Dancehall artiste Popcaan did not like what he heard regardless of the pace, and he was not shy about making his opinion known.

“Wid all due respect legend, me feel like you fi just help up some youth wid real musical talent! Them dey ya nuff. NJ a mi fam, but please just give some hungry youth wey actually have the talent tha platform deh,” Popcaan commented.

It is unknown if this left bad blood between the two, but Popcaan clearly still got love for Usain as he has given Usain props in his two most recent songs, “Win” and “Medal.” Since his retirement from Track & Field, Bolt has gone on to start his family with the birth of a baby daughter last year. With this said, Bolt is no stranger to music and entertainment. From his historic win at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, where his dancing styles and moves were copied worldwide as his signature stance, to french company G.H Mumm selecting him as their Chief entertainment officer back in 2016. In 2019, he launched his Olympe Rose champagne and also introduced the world to his first riddim by the same name.

It has long been hinted that he would be doing more music projects as his love of music is well known. He has even in the past taken over the turntables at popular night clubs in Kingston, so this passion seems to be here to stay. His fans are now anxiously awaiting the release of his upcoming EP.

Popcaan Doubles Down On Usain Bolt’s Diss, “Me Nuh Bloodcl**t Sorry”

Popcaan is doubling down on his criticism of Usain Bolt’s latest talent (or lack of) in relation to his venture into music. Fans were disappointed that the Usain Bolt and NJ song, “Living The Dream,” only had NJ singing while Bolt only made a cameo appearance giving his favorite hand signals and being featured as the main actor in the video.

Popcaan came out on Monday to tell the world’s fastest man alive that he should use his platform to “help some youth wid real musical talent” and to use his platform to give said talented youths the platform that he was using.

Many praised Popcaan for being honest – “nuff a unu need friends like Popcaan some a unu fren dem na tell unu she unu song nuh sound good,” one fan defended Popcaan. However, others criticized Popcaan and even called him badmind but Popcaan doesn’t care. The artiste posted to his story “me done say wey me say and me nuh bomboc***t sorry,” he posted to his Instagram stories.

Popcaan has been known to be a straight talker, but it seems that fans don’t appreciate the way he approached the situation. “Popcaan have a point still but at the same time I think Bolt has earned the right to do whatever makes him happy at this point in his life (remember when him did ah play ball? Lol) also thi nuh haffi be one or the other. He can be an artist and also develop artists,” one person reasoned on Twitter.

Another felt that Bolt should heed Poppy’s advice since he could relate to it in his sports field, “…he [bolt] clearly thinks he has talent and that’s why he has made an effort to get it produced and encouraging others to purchase his music. He is disrespecting true talent out there. Same way no one can come in his lane of track and field and water down the thing, he can’t do the same in music. He has ZERO formal training…..waste of time,” another person commented on Instagram.

It seems that Bolt and Popcaan aren’t as connected as others felt. Many suggested a private phone call or a DM, but Popcaan isn’t following Bolt on Instagram. However, of Usain’s 238 people he follows, Popcaan is one of them.

Meanwhile, it seems like Usain has received the approval of the unrivaled King of Dancehall- Vybz Kartel, who commented on Bolt’s video of himself and Kasi B in the studio “A who dat #usainboltel” with a laugh and fire emojis.

Heard you own a new car and a big home (big home)
Owning everything but your mistakes
For what, for what, for what?
Showing off your art and all your new gold (new gold)
Acting like Usain Bolt
So what, so what, so what?

[Pre-Chorus]
Baby, tell me where your friends now?
Baby, that’s you on the way down
You know I be there to catch ya
‘Cause I’m faded with my arms out
But you won’t remember when I
Call on you when I break

[Chorus]
How can you love me?
How can you love me?
How can you love me?
How can you love me?
How can you love me?
How can you love me when you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart
When you don’t have a heart
When you don’t have a heart
When you don’t have a heart

[Verse 2]
Standing in the foyer in the silence (silence)
Penthouse feel like an asylum
Alone, alone, alone
Riding off my love without a license (license)
That ain’t feed you falling from your high risk
As you watch me go

[Pre-Chorus]
Baby, tell me where your friends now?
Baby, that’s you on the way down
You know I be there to catch ya
‘Cause I’m faded with my arms out
But you won’t remember when I
Call on you when I break

How can you love me?
How can you love me?
How can you love me?
How can you love me?

When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?

[Bridge]
Heart out of reflections
Your fake friends, they all come and go
Come and go
Big nights and stay-at-homes may crumble
But my love will grow
My love will grow

[Chorus]
When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?

When you don’t have a heart?
When you don’t have a heart?

Smokepurpp – Watching Me Lyrics

[Verse 1]

I just bought a Patek for the 80, i’m a flex

Half a million on my neck i got it tatted, i’m a tiger (benjis, benjis)
I just opened up the cookie and it smell like i just farted

[Verse 3]

I just hopped up in the six-speed (six-speed)
I’m movin’ at light speed (light speed, uh)
Movin’ like Usain Bolt through all night, B (uh, uh uh)
Came up like an Icee (icee)
Stare too long and you might catch a brain freeze (uh)

Fuck a million, i need like 200 orders
Fuck a Ruger, we get Dracos in by the load (du du)
Fuck security, i still came in with my pole (du, pole)
Still came in with my hoes
In the back of the club, and i’m still gettin’ throat
We-we we get real slimy, we come in, wipe ya nose (ph, uh)
Yeah, We come in, real throat (ph, uh)
I can’t tell you what happened 10 minutes ago

I’m off the lean and Benzos

[Chorus]

Know they watchin’ me real close (yaa-ah)

I don’t feel the need to go outside anymo’ (yaa-ahh)

I don’t feel the need to go outside anymo’ (yaa-ahh)

Know they watchin’ me really close
I don’t feel the need to go outside anymo’ (yaa-ahh)

Scarlxrd – I Am Damaged Lyrics

[Intro]
Ooooh Ooooh Ooh Haha Yeah
Scar, fucking mad ting, yeah, yeah
[Verse 1]
Fuck a sick day but I can’t take time off
Wipe my bars in a whip no white off
All the frustration got me inspired
‘Bout to go get my empire
Drop the end if you wanna be wiser
Third degree burns got heated climate
Sweats might turn I’m feelin’ violent
‘Bout to destroy the peace and cause riots
Can’t handle the beast I’ve summoned
Be prepared for the shit that’s comin’
I’ve struggled before and suffered
They don’t wanna see me do well so fuck ’em
Got the hunger deep in my stomach
Grind don’t grind they see who’s tougher
I had to stop and think one time
I’m an Olympian why am I runnin’?
Fuck that [?] on my neck
Worth way more than the ice you wear
Noone knows about the time I’ve spent
I write facts like they’re pretendin’, okay
[?] my pain to your head
Say 1 word it’s dead or there for G’s
I’ll back them to the end
Fuck that ride or die for my friends
All the gas I don’t buy it
You don’t know me so don’t try it
You think I relate to who?
I got more in common with a cartoon lion
Take out kings and nice them
Tony Montana expand and buy it
I do sex and drugs not violence
Step in the room make everyone silent
I have so much time on clock
You stand still I duck and dodge
Lick man down with the snooker flow
You hit off and I get two shots
I don’t look back to the past
My future’s bright and so long
I got big then I moved on
I was on tele but I didn’t even watch like
Give a fuck what anyone said
Absorbing all heat and rising like bread
I’m always all in my flushes they [?]
[?] bodies in your trunk are dead
They only place I camp is gold
I feel like I’m Usain Bolt
Went to the paycheck on my toes
Fuck a fake friend I don’t need those
I hit the [?]
Think of madness
Place that ting right down to the roach
Some of my guns are loaded
Some of my men still do road

(I’ll finish them tonight :3 – Uzeh)

Usain Bolt Name Ding Dong As His Favorite Dancehall Artist Now

Ding Dong is thankful for a major endorsement from Usain Bolt on the global stage.

The fastest man in history, Usain Bolt, was at CES 2018 this week when he did an interview with CNET. Among the many things he spoke about was music where he listed a few of the local dancehall artists that he has been listening to. Bolt, who is a longtime fan of Vybz Kartel, says Ding Dong is one of his current favorite deejays because he likes to dance and have fun.

“For me as a DJ, as a guy who listens to music on the regular, I try to stick to every genre of music, you know what I mean, but am much more into dancehall music, I love to dance so one of my favorite artist is Ding Dong,” Usain Bolt said. The sprint legend also spoke about some recent news about trying out for German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

Ding Dong says that the endorsement is a big deal for him because it exposes him to a new audience who never know about his music. “this is a good look’ because me know him deep wid Vybz Kartel music and thing because him always a big up Vybz Kartel,” he said. “For him to acknowledge me like dat and den him say artiste, him never say dancer, dat fi show yuh say him consider me pan da level deh.”

Earlier this week, Usain Bolt posted a video on Instagram of himself and professional footballer Leon Bailey dancehall to one of Ding Dong songs. The Ravers deejay also currently has one of the hottest dance songs out right now “Fling Yuh Shoulda.”

Reason why we not pull up them bitches hoppin’ out
Now what you talkin’ bout?

[Bridge]
What you talkin’ bout?
Never do we get in town but tonight feels right yeah
What you talkin’ bout?
Never do we get in town but tonight feels right yeah

[Outro]
Never do we ever get the time, never seen again, right
Now I want the time, today I got the time, right
I’m down south, east Atlanta, Georgia
And I’m ridin’ yeah, and I’m rollin’ yeah
To the train outside, old balls, strip clubs down dirty C’s yeah
And I’m rollin’ yeah
I’m downtown, west [?]
Rollin’ yeah

Tory Lanez – Blue Jay Season letras

[Verse 1]
Yeah, I heard word around town is I’m poppin’ off
Bad bitch recline my seat before she top me down
Just invested in two choppers and they on me now
Bitch all you hear was ‘grr grr’ when I’m hopin’ out
Put them bitches in a Range Rover
Hit a mission with my niggas then I change clothes
Niggas running for that paper like Usain Bolt
You hit my bitch I fuck your girl, that’s how the game go
You know how that saying go, girl you know I’m poppin’ off
Give me head and make sure you make that shit sloppy now
If you wit it you gon’ meet me at the lobby now
Say you not girl I know that you are probably down
Now what you talkin’ bout?

[Bridge]
What you talkin’ bout?
Never do we get in town but tonight feels right yeah
What you talkin’ bout?

Don’t you know that we got plenty choppers
Any bitch inside my kitchen cook like Betty Crocker
Niggas say that they gon’ rob me bitch don’t make me stop you
Uncle Speedy, B.M.F., he died don’t let it drive you
Hit G Weed on the cellphone
Make that call from Compton they’ll be out on Melrose
Train shooters and they down to touch the railroad
He ain’t down to do you colder than the hail snow, woah
That shit tell you that I’m poppin’ off
When I pull up in that Wraith, that ain’t no talkin’ now

Reason why we not pull up them bitches hoppin’ out
Now what you talkin’ bout?
