XXXTentacion Claims He Is A Better Rapper Than Tupac

Yes, you heard that right, XXXTentacion claims he is a better rapper than Tupac.

Certainly, he is not the first young rapper to claim that they are better than the late Tupac Shakur, just last year Kodak Black also echoed the same line. Pac is the benchmark for how good of a rapper you’re these days but ever so often some young cat overstep the bounds and say they are better than the West Coast legend. During his recent chat with DJ Akademiks, the Lauderhill rapper insisted that he is better than Pac while raising some eyebrows.

“I’m better than 2Pac, bro,” XXXTentacion insisted. “Please don’t compare me to him…Please don’t. 2Pac can’t make rock music. 2Pac couldn’t do that. 2Pac didn’t do that. 2Pac was a dancer and a poet and a rapper.” Akademiks then reminded him of Tupac’s credentials as a revolutionary figure in hip hop and X says he doesn’t care and continues his rant. “I don’t give a f***, there’s plenty of revolutionaries. What about Joyner Lucas?”

XXXTentacion then admitted that he is a big fan of The Notorious B.I.G. and thinks that Biggie is better than Tupac. He added that he wanted to spark a new debate about Tupac and Biggie while claiming the B.I.G. was a better rapper and better poet. “I think Biggie’s better, as far as a rapper,” he continues. “Tupac could articulate himself very well, but Biggie was a better poet.”

In his lengthy rant, XXXTentacion says he blame both rap legends for the current levels of gun violence among young kids, saying they should’ve put their differences aside and battle it out rather than kill each other. But let’s be clear, there is no evidence that Biggie Smalls had anything to do with Tupac’s murder. Notorious B.I.G.’s killing is widely seen as a reprisal for the death of Tupac.

Migos Rapper Offset Says Sorry For Homophobic Lyrics

Migos rapper Offset issued a lengthy apology for using a homophobic slur in his new song “Boss Life” with YFN Lucci.

The song was released last month and the video for the single was premiered earlier this week and since then Offset has come under fire for one line in his verse. “I cannot vibe with queers (hun hun), I got the heart of a bear (huh),” the Atlanta MC raps. Folks on Twitter attacked him mercilessly calling him homophobic among other things.

Offset has since come to his own defense by issuing an apology on Instagram while letting everyone know that he wasn’t referring to gay individuals when he used the word queer in his lyrics. “I didn’t write the line about gay people,” he wrote. “I have said before since these issues before that I got love for all people. My passion for fashion has lead me to a lot of gay people around me who I have mad respect for and we are very cool so I’m not in a place where I’m hating like that.

Offset posted a screenshot of the meaning of the word taken from Google. “When I wrote that I was thinking of words that could rhyme with the others (here, lear, solitaire, bear) and I saw this definition about her having a queer feeling she was being watched and it fit what I was thinking about a stalker creepy paparazzi situation,” he added. “To me that “queer” I don’t mean someone who’s gay. I mean lame people who film you, post it and stalk you. Lingo that means strange or odd. I M S O R R Y I A P O L O G I Z E I’m offended I offended anybody.”

Offset also spoke to his fans on IG Live where he further explains his stance on the issue and responded to the backlash.

Last year, Migos rapper Quavo also came under fire from some hip hop fans when he responded to a question about fellow rapper iLoveMakonnen coming out as gay. iLoveMakonnen received a lot of support from fans and when Quavo was asked about the support he has been receiving, he responded saying, “That’s because the world is f***** up.”

The Migos rapper has been feeling the heat from fans today over a homophobic lyrics in his new single with YFN Lucci, “Boss Life.” One fan took it one step further to tell Cardi B that she deserves better and that proves to be a big mistake. We all know that Bardi is quick to clap back at fans on social media and this is no different except that she didn’t upload a video rant about it, just a simple response on Twitter.

“Cardi, you deserves someone better than Offset (I will always love you and respect your choices),” the fan wrote. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper quickly responded saying, “Don’t tell [me] about who I deserve with him or not you don’t know how he matured me. before I met him I ain’t had a lawyer, business management and I was insecure about my music he gave me confidence and help me get my business situated.”

She has since deleted that tweet, but not before folks got a screenshot of it. She also posted another tweet defending her response after some fans still wasn’t satisfied. “People are just too miserable for me I’m sorry I’m to blessed to be dealing with ya sh*t today. The negativity is not going to tarnish my feelings from these blessings and opportunities I’m getting. Have a good day.”

Demarco Is “Comfortable” With His New Hit Single

Demarco says he is “Comfortable” with his new smash hit single.

The dancehall veteran is starting out the new year with another hit under his belt. His new single “Comfortable” was released last weekend and already it’s getting a lot of attention on dancehall airwaves. Demarco produced the single himself and released it under his own label True Gift Entertainment while offloading the distribution to Zojak World Wide.

“I’m a well-rounded artiste, producer, songwriter and engineer. When I go to the studio, I generally start off with a blank slate and whatever mood I am in or the feel I get, I just start writing; after I find the right melody, I then determine the direction I want to go,” Marco said.

Demarco has over ten years experience under his belt in the music. He started out in the mid-2000s as a producer before transitioning into an artist. He has since released a number of big hits like “Fallen Soldiers,” “I Love My Life,” and his recent single with Akon and Runtown “No Wahala.” The deejay signed a deal with Akon label last year and has been pushing his career internationally since.

Demarco revealed that he is shooting a music video for his new single “Comfortable.” Listen to the new song below.

Rapper Tay-K’s Hit “The Race” Now Certified Platinum

Tay-K maybe incarcerated but his music, in this case, “The Race” is still bumping.

The 17-year-old rapper released the song while he was on the run from feds after going on a crime spree. The single “The Race” is now platinum. The single went viral last summer and is showing no signs of slowing down. The track also spawned a number of remixes from rappers like Lil Yachty and Tyga. The song garnered enough buzz to prompt Tay-K’s fans and some fellow rappers to call for his release from prison via the hashtag #FreeTayK.

I should also note that Tay-K is facing some pretty serious charges including murder, kidnapping and armed robbery. Despite his lengthy rap sheet, “The Race” has now surpassed a million units in sales as of January 12th, roughly six months after its release, according to the RIAA. The viral single was recorded and the video was shot while Tay-K was on the run after escaping house arrest. He was eventually captured and placed behind bars and once fans realized his ordeal it further fuels the streaming online. The song peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Tay-K is now a platinum-selling rapper which is not bad considering he is just 17 and facing possibly decades in prison. Last year November, rumors surfaced claiming that K signed a lucrative record deal, but a rep for the rapper later dismissed the reports as bogus. Sources say, however, that a deal is currently on the table with conditions that he can beat his murder case. He is expected to go on trial for at least two capital murder charges this year and a few lesser but still serious charges.

If he is freed this year, Tay-K is lining up to be the next breakthrough young rapper. If convicted, he could be sent to prison for decades.

Kodak Black Arrested In Florida On Seven Felony Charges

Kodak Black is currently behind bars and is facing at least seven felony charges.

The Pompano Beach rapper, real name Dieuson Octave, was picked up in Florida on Thursday at his home. According to TMZ, Kodak Black was arrested while he was on Instagram Live talking to his fans. Cops not only seized his phone, but laid out several charges against him including, Neglect child without great bodily harm, two charges of possession of weapon or ammo by a felon, grand theft of firearm, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and two probation violation charges.

Kodak Black is starting the new year almost identical to how he started last year, behind bars. The “Tunnel Vision” rapper has had a number of run-ins with the legal system and in fact he is currently serving a one-year sentence on house arrest and is currently on probation for a separate case involving sexual assault. If these charges stick against him, he could be sent to prison for years for the gun charges alone.

Kodak was awaiting trial for his sexual assault charge at the time of his arrest and there is no doubt that the prosecutor will use that against him. In the video below, you can hear the cops in the background questioning the Project Baby rapper while telling him that they will take his phone because its part of the evidence. This could mean that cops have been watching Kodak Black’s antics on social media for months before moving in.

Kodak Black was indicted in October last year for one count of sexual battery. His trial date was not yet set, but he was on probation and house arrest at the time of his arrest at his Florida home. He required permission from the court and his probation officer to travel even for concerts.

Usher and Don Corleone Team Up On New Single “Pressure”

Usher taps dancehall power producer Don Corleone for his new single “Pressure.”

The link-up between the R&B singer and the producer was put together by producer Rico Love, according to Don Corleone. The two met for the first time at the famous AfterMaster Recording & Mastering Studios in Hollywood, CA. “I got a call from Rico Love (an American producer) one night asking me if I could come to a studio in Hollywood, California and be prepared to work,” Corleone said.

“I went to the studio and to my surprise, Usher was in the studio. So, Rico said let me play something for you and he played me this demo that he did,” the producer added. “It has only a few keys on it, so he then asked if I could make it fire with that dancehall sound. I made it on spot and it took me like five minutes to complete it.”

Don added that Usher loved what he heard and Rico Love then suggested that they include a female dancehall artist on the track. Corleone said he made it happen but can’t disclose the name of the female artist who will be on the track, but there are already some rumors that it’s dancehall newcomer Shenseea. “We recorded her the next day at Hitmaker Studio in Kingston… When Usher and Rico heard it, they both loved it,” he revealed.

Don Corleone is the first Jamaican based producer to produce a song for Usher which makes it a big achievement. Dancehall music has been reshaping the sound of mainstream pop and hip hop over the past two years and more established artists are now looking to Jamaica to get the authenticity of that sound. Justin Bieber, who was discovered by Usher, dabbled in dancehall for his last album, and we’ve seen artists like Drake, Rihanna, Tory Lanez, and Chris Brown all release dancehall influenced singles.

Cardi B Explains Why She Always Posts Videos About Her Achievements

Cardi B says she will not stop making videos about he achievements so get used to it.

The former Love and Hip Hop New York rapper just had perhaps the best year of her life and not only did she worked her way into the elite of music, but she also had to prove that she is not a one-hit wonder. She often posts videos of herself blasting her critics while reminding her fans where she is coming from and what she has achieved for herself.

One fan seems to have enough of her bickering about her achievements and decided to tell her to get over it and, well you don’t have to guess how that ended. “Damn Cardi B needs to shut up we get it congrats on your singles,” the fan wrote. “You’ve made 50 videos telling us where your sh*t is on the Billboard top 100. Why do you need to tell us this sh*t just be happy for yourself.

Cardi B responded with a fiery clap back saying, “Everyday I get discredit. For months people was calling me a one hit wonder and that sh*t used to hurt my heart. So I’m going to always post about my achievements. I’m thanking the people for supporting and the lord in this video. How is that bragging?”

Cardi B is currently having an impressive run on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Just last week she equaled Beyonce record as only the second female artist in history to have four songs in the top ten of the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs Chart. The week prior, she also created Billboard history when she became the second female rapper to have three songs in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 chart. Hill did it in the late 1990s and no other female MC since then until Cardi B. So can you blame her for posting those videos.

Meek Mill and YFN Lucci New Song “Street Kings” Is Fire

Meek Mill and YFN Lucci new single “Street Kings” is straight fire.

The duo drop the collaboration over the weekend and it quickly became a trending topic in hip hop. One of the reasons why this song resonate so much is because of Meek Mill’s incarceration and fans are sending a message to the system to set him free. “Shout out my ni**as that stayed down, That’s why they still with me I came up, Got some money and look what they sayin’ now, Bet they tell you them ni**as, they stand up, I manned up,” Meek raps.

Both Meek and YFN Lucci pays homage to their friends and perhaps fans who are currently incarcerated by a justice system widely seen as bias against African American men. The single “Street Kings” will be featured on YFN upcoming album Ray Ray from Summerhill. The project is expected to arrive sometime this year.

Meek Mill has been incarcerated since November last year when he was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for probation violation. His sentencing sparked widespread criticism from fans and his celebrity peers who accused the judge of using heavy handed tactics to send the Philly rapper to prison. His attorneys have also been actively fighting for his freedom, but so far they have been hitting roadblocks.

Eminem Has Another Joe Budden Diss Track On The Way

Eminem may have another Joe Budden diss track on the way.

Last week, Eminem surprised the rap community with his “Chloraseptic (Remix)” with 2 Chainz and Phresher where he took a few shots at his Slaughterhouse comrade Joe Budden. A lot of us may say that the rapper turn podcaster cause this on himself when he called Eminem’s new album Revival trash. Likewise, a lot of us really think that the album is trash but still feels the need to protect Shady from certain critics like Budden who has never been shy about speaking his mind on any topic in hip hop.

Nevertheless, Eminem fired back without calling his name on the track and Joe Budden has since come out saying he doesn’t think that he was the one Em was dissing. Sources are now saying Em has another diss track coming and this time he will go directly after the “Pump It Up” rapper. “I think he (Eminem) feel some type of way about being targeted by someone he is close to as if there were some bad blood between them,” sources said.

RELATED: Joe Budden Insist Eminem’s “Revival” Is Trash Angers 50 Cent

D2 member Bizarre was one of the first to push back at Joe Budden on Twitter by calling him a traitor. “Never bite the hand feed u.. I never like to do anyway chump,” Bizarre tweeted. In case your wondering about the history between Joe Budden and Eminem here is a quick rundown. Budden was a member of Slaughterhouse, with three other rappers, Royce da 5’9″, Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz. Em signed the group to his Shady Records in January 2011.

Over the years, Budden has been a strong ally of Eminem until his harsh criticism of the Detroit rapper’s new album. So when Bizarre says never bite the hands that feed you, that is what he was referring to. Joe himself is no pushover when it comes to battle rap, remember his attack on Drake two years ago. But when it comes to raw battle rap, Eminem is one of the greatest of all-time, so it will be interesting to see if he responds to Shady.

The producer uploaded a photo of himself and the Atlanta rapper on IG on Monday with the caption being peace sign emoji. Some fans took it as a confirmation that Beast Mode 2 is coming soon. This month marks three years since they dropped the first installment in the mixtape series. While neither gave any concrete confirmation, they drop enough hint to fuel rumors that the project is on the way and could arrive as early as this week.

During an interview last year, Zaytoven spoke about working on the follow up project with Future while alluding to the rapper’s busy schedule as part of the reason why fans have not gotten the second installment in the mixtape series. He also spoke about the chemistry in the studio between the two saying that the project left a hunger for them to continue working together. Last year alone Future released three projects which is a bit of the norm for the “Mask Off” rapper, so you can expect a ton of new music from him this year and hopefully that will start with Beast Mode 2.

Rapsody Details How Kendrick Lamar Changed Her Life

Rapsody says working with Kendrick Lamar changed her life and career for the better.

The female rapper had a phenomenal year in 2017 and a big part of her success is attributed to Kendrick Lamar whom she worked with on his landmark album To Pimp A Butterfly. Now she is nominated for a Grammy awards for Best Rap Album for her latest project Laila’s Wisdom. She is the only female rapper to be nominated in the category this year. Aside from dropping her album last year, she released a handful of singles that did very well on the airwaves.

Speaking with Larry King in a recent interview, Rapsody details how Kendrick Lamar significantly impacted her career last year and put on a scale she never thought she would reach. “After I worked with Kendrick on To Pimp A Butterfly, it put me on a platform where he introduced me to a lot of people that necessarily weren’t paying attention,” the rapper said. K-Dot is also nominated in the Best Rap Album category for his album DAMN. “It feels good to compete with your friends, you can compete but in a healthy way,” she said.

RELATED: Kendrick Lamar Recording New Music For “Black Panther” Soundtrack

Rapsody also opened up about her impression of Kendrick Lamar as the face of rap music currently, telling Larry King that he is a fearless and humble rapper, who is not afraid to rap about anything he feels like. She says he first met the Compton rapper back in 2011 through producer 9th Wonder. They were both fans of each other at the time and Kendrick was a big fan of the producer.

As far as being the only female rapper nominated in the rap album category at the Grammy’s, Rapsody says it’s bittersweet because she grew up seeing a platter of female emcees in the 1990s and now it seems like there can only be one female mainstream rapper at a time.

Cardi B Didn’t Want Offset To Get Neck Tattoo Of Her Name

Cardi B objected to Offset when he told her that he was going to get a tattoo of her.

The Migos rapper broke the number one rule on dating, never tattoo the name of the person you’re dating even if it’s your husband or wife. In this case, Cardi B and Offset are engaged, but still, people do break up and divorce rates are at an all-time high right now. Nevertheless, the Atlanta rapper hit up his favorite tattoo artist recently and got himself a tattoo of the “Bodak Yellow” rapper on his neck.

The tat depicts Cardi B as a Power Puff Girl with her name under it the image in large letters. Some fans think that Offset instantly lost all of his street creds the moment he debuts the new ink, while others think he is just plain old dumb. But sources are saying he just wanted to prove to her just how much she means to him even after she objected to it. “She was flattered but not too happy that he did and for a number of reasons because now this puts extra pressure on her to also get his name tatted on her and I don’t think she wants to get any more tattoos,” sources said. “Matter of fact she regrets the large one she has now and wished she could get read of it. A lot of people see her and her gangsta vibe, but she is not big on tattoos.

Dancehall HipHop was also told that Cardi B’s favorite cartoon growing up was Power Puff Girls and that’s the reason why Offset got a tattoo with that theme. The tat is also symbolic in that it shows her as a strong woman. Sources added that Bardi has since warmed up to the tattoo and feels the gesture shows her how much he loves her.

The tattoo comes in the wake of a cheating scandal plaguing the couple’s relationship after hackers hack his iCloud account and started leaking videos and photos. There is also a rumored explicit tape floating around of the two, prompting Cardi B to fire off a letter from her attorney to stop the leaking.

Just before his departure from Everyday Struggle last month, Joe Budden openly criticized Eminem new album Revival calling it trash. Despite getting heavy backlash from Em fans, the Slaughterhouse rapper stands firm about his remarks, insisting that it’s the worst music the Detroit rapper ever released throughout his entire career. The criticism is particularly striking given that Bidden has always been an Eminem ally.

Rappers like 50 Cent and D12 member Bizarre have been going after the rapper turn podcaster on social media. The G-Unit emcee took it a step further and threaten to give Joe a proper beat down when he sees him. “That was a bad idea, look you got a little ass whopping coming. It’s not a big deal, you will get over it. ?#denofthieves Jan 19,” 50 wrote while using the opportunity to promote his new movie Den of Thieves.

Joe Budden is now off Everyday Struggle and rumored to have a new show coming after signing a new deal with Revolt TV. Despite his harsh criticism of Revival, the album debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 and is currently at No. 6 in its third week on the chart. The album sold 267,000 copies in the first week with 197,000 copies being from traditional album sales.

JAY-Z Trademark Jaybo From “The Story Of O.J.” Video

JAY-Z files a trademark to protect his Jaybo animated character from “The Story Of O.J.” video and it makes perfect sense.

Last week news surfaced that his 4:44 album inspired a book about finance and now this week the rapper filed a trademark to protect the beloved character Jaybo from one of the singles on the project where he raps about money and finance, “The Story Of O.J.” TMZ reported on Monday that JAY-Z filed the trademark under his company S. Carter Enterprises.

The Jaybo character was inspired by the famous Sambo character from the 1899 children’s book, The Story of Little Black Sambo. The character is often characterized as racist due to his depiction and JAY-Z’s single also has a racial tone. There is also some resemblance to the character Dumbo from the 1941 film which also sparked condemnation of racism.

“The Story of O.J.” is the first video to be released from the album and it received raved reviews among rap critics. There are already some talks that JAY-Z is planning to release some merchandise featuring the Jaybo character like mugs and T-Shirts, or perhaps he could be featured in some upcoming music videos. During a recent interview with iHeartRadio, Hov spoke about the meaning behind the single, saying it was just a song about “we as a culture, having a plan, how we’re gonna push this forward. We all make money, and then we all lose money, as artists especially.”

The former Ruff Ryder rapper is a co-host on the CBS daily show and she often used her platform to discuss what’s happening in hip hop currently. I just got signed, could you please be on my album?’ and whatever, and she’d just look at me, like, ‘Uh uh. Yeah. Ok.”

Eve says she then decided to stop going up to her, but at the time she just didn’t think Lil Kim hated her. Ninjaman Transfer From GP Over Beef With Vybz Kartel

Ninjaman was transferred from GP last week following a beef with Vybz Kartel and other inmates.

The Don Gorgon, who was sentenced to life in prison for murder, was involved in a feud with some other inmates while being housed at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre, also known as GP. He was subsequently transferred to the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre, in Spanish Town. Sources told Dancehall HipHop that Ninjaman got upset because Vybz Kartel and other inmates were allowed to have certain electronics like flat screen TV and DVD players.

“He felt like Kartel was being treated better than him when he is a celebrity too,” sources said. “I think he was denied a request to get a flat screen TV and a DVD player in his quarters and that didn’t sit well with him. So when he complained about it, the other inmates got upset because its bringing too much attention because these things are illegal. It’s like he just came in and want to run the show, but you have to pay your dues.”

RELATED: How Ninjaman Conviction Could Shatter Vybz Kartel Appeal

We’re told that Some inmates are also angry at Ninjaman because he previously disrespected Vybz Kartel in interviews before going to prison and also advocate against a Ministry of National Security initiative to allow inmates to get conjugal visits. “The other men in prison weren’t too happy with him talking bad about Kartel during the Lizard trial and even after the sentence, so there were a lot of bad blood and tensions were high, so that’s why they transfer him to Spanish town to prevent war from breaking out,” sources added. “Plus he was the one who spoke out against inmates being allowed conjugal visits when the National Security Minister said he wanted to humanized inmates. It’s not a good look because now some men sees him as a traitor.”

Ninjaman attorney didn’t deny or confirmed the reports, but reliable police sources told us that the dancehall legend is currently being housed at Spanish Town prison and he is not too happy about it since conditions at that prison is far worse than GP.

Cardi B Blast King Yella Amidst Offset Beef

Cardi B has had enough of King Yella speaking bad on her name.

Over the past week, Chicago rapper King Yella has been slandering Cardi B on social media telling his fans that he got with her before she was famous and even before she hooked up with Offset. Dancehall HipHop reported last week that Offset called up Yella on FaceTime and threatened to put hands on him if he doesn’t leave his girlfriend alone and as expected that threatened was not taken seriously.

Cardi B is now speaking up for herself and not only did she denied having anything serious with him in the past, she also claimed that she only knows King Yella as an acquaintance of her ex-fiance Tommy. You can watch the expletives laced video clip she posted on IG below. Bottom line is, Bardi says she never indulged in anything inappropriate with the Chicago rapper who has been posting photos of them together on his IG profile.

Offset is reportedly very angry with Yella for talking smack about Cardi B and things could escalate into a full-on feud that could play out in the streets.

Tekashi69 Confirms Lil Yachty Collaboration On The Way

Tekashi69, aka 6ix9ine, has confirmed that a collaboration with Lil Yachty is on the way.

6ix9ine has been having a steady climb in hip hop over the last year, but Yachty has had a bit of a tumultuous year with disappointed sales numbers for his debut album Teenage Emotions. He was also given the face of whack rappers last year and believe me there were plenty. Tekashi69 himself has been taking some heat from some rap fans who accused him of releasing trash music.

So can this two controversial rappers turn their image around with this new joint they have coming. The New York MC announced on Instagram that he and Yachty has some fire coming out tomorrow. “This might happen. Don’t get to hype cause I’ll kill this n**** and then finish myself idc no more. Gang gang KEKE TOMORROW,” Tekashi69 wrote on Instagram.

Lil Yachty opened up about the dismal first-week sales of his album Teenage Emotion, saying that he was confused at first. “Then the sales came back and it did 44,000 first week and I was devastated and so confused, I worked so hard,” he told Paper mag. “But I disconnected with my fans because I tried to do this other stuff, you know?”

Aside from dropping some new music, Tekashi69 has been dealing with some ongoing legal troubles. The “Kooda” rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, is facing years in prison after taking a plea deal for “three felony counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance.” He was 18 years old at the time of the incident and the victim was 13. In New York, the crime carries a minimum sentence of 15 years.
