Skepta – Eyes On Me Lyrics

[Chorus]
How they gonna lift my skirt? (How?)
When I never wear no dress
Eyes on me ’cause the way this designer looking on me got your girl impressed (Sexy)
Stylish G, I make one phone call and the gang turn up like it’s merky’s vest
They can’t diss us boy, they get crushed in a rizla
Strap it and burn it, yes
They got the eyes on me but my eyes on the girl with the tight up skirt (Hmm-hmm)
Bare songs about ice and racks
Them boy there live out their wifey’s purse (Brr)
You don’t wanna see the gang pull up
The cars dem pull up, your guys disperse (Bow-bow)
And we ain’t tryna take no L’s
Any funny business and we raise up first (Ice)

[Verse 1]
Came with the what? Came with the who?
Came with the hood like a Canada Goose (Gang)
I dunno who gassed them youts, I stay in the boy’s T like cranberry juice
Big man you don’t wanna get murked in your beamer
Meet the grime reaper
It’s 38° outside but the streets still cold like a freezer
Gotta stay close to the heater (Ice)
Ex-girl found out that I slept with it in her bed
But she can’t call me a cheater
Gotta stay with it
The streets hear that you’re getting money, they will spread news like the cleaner (Brr)
Try slander my name in the paper (Huh?)
Now I’m on the front cover in the fader
It’s an oxymoron how I speak so bluntly
Still I’m as sharp as a razor (High)
Who’s that boy in the new Bottega?
Sipping out a [?], no chaser (Sex)
Bought a new crib and I got no neighbours
Independent, but I’m still so major
I was in New York tryna make ends meet outside the bodega (Get me?)
I went from trap boy to wholesaler
Tables turned and I’m the rotator (High)

[Verse 2]
What you telling me?
I made it so easy to like me
Still they wanna be my enemy (Huh?)
You know the fame comes with the jealousy (Trust)
I’m an African giant, course she fucks with me, that’s simple science
One night with me and she feeling the chemistry
She love the way I move especially
No competition, ain’t no one ahead of me (Greaze)
Stop the comparison, shit’s embarrassing
I’m a top soldier in the garrison (Bow-bow)
Room full of gold like the Vatican
Diamond chain, rosy like a mannequin (Ice)
I could put ’em in a hearse with a verse before they know what’s happening
Or we could do magic sticks, my guy wave the sticks
Watch them boy start vanishing (Brr)

Tekashi 6ix9ine Honors XXXTentacion And Ski Mask the Slump God Reacts

Tekashi 6ix9ine pays homage to XXXTentacion at his concert last weekend but Ski Mask The Slump God isn’t impressed.

The self-proclaimed King of New York, Daniel Hernandez, better known as Tekashi 6ix9ine is not well-liked in many rap circles. However, he still has many supporters. The rapper is currently in Florida at a music festival where he performed in front of a whopping 15,000 fans. While this concert defied the usual social distancing guidelines, this is not what is most surprising.

It was 6ix9ine’s tribute to fellow rapper XXXTentacion that caught everyone off guard. This is not the first time 6ix9ine has done a tribute for X as he memorialized him right after his passing in 2018.

The late alternative rapper Jahseh Onfroy, more popularly known as XXXTentacion and typically referred to as X, was from Miami-Dade County. He had a massive cult following which he built from his SoundCloud and his social media accounts. Millions of fans around the world mourned his untimely passing back in June 2018.

At this recent festival, 6ix9ine referred to X as the King of Florida and played X’s “Look At Me!”. He did not perform the song in its entirety but rather recited some of the lyrics while moshing on stage.

This was typically well-received by his fans, who thought the tribute was heartfelt. Even those who were not fans of the New York rapper lauded him for the tribute on social media. However, one rapper was not impressed. X’s best friend Ski Mask The Slump God made his displeasure known on Twitter.

“Random N****s That Perform Take A Step Back Or Look At Me But Only Know The First Three Lines,” The Slump God tweeted.

Random Niggas That Perform Take A Step Back Or Look At Me But Only Know The First Three Lines ???

— Sir Ski Mask (@THESLUMPGOD) May 2, 2021

It is unclear whether the “Catch Me Outside” rapper’s tweet was intended for Tekashi 6ix9ine, as he did not directly call him out. If this tweet is for 6ix9ine, it is obvious that Ski Mask views this performance as being disrespectful. Regardless, this tribute seems to have gotten him in the good graces of many who were not fond of him before.

As fans sings him high praises, many of them are also highlighting how petty 6ix9ine is and are anxious to see his response to Ski Mask. Tekashi is known for his legendary trolling skills, and the rapper consistently stays embroiled in endless beefs.

Following his release from prison last year, 6ix9ine shared a screenshot of some DMs XXXTentacion sent him before his death the year before.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Returning To The Stage After Almost Losing Millions In Jewelry

Tekashi 6ix9ine is ready to retake the stage after he almost had his chain snatched during his last performance.

Since becoming a free man again, Tekashi 6ix9ine has been keeping it high-key on the gram though perhaps low-key in real life. This weekend, things changed when he made his grand return to the stage in Orlando, Florida for his first live performance since his release. Prior to this, the rapper who has earned a reputation in hip-hop for being a rat was often threatened and intimidated about making certain appearances.

6ix9ine scoffed at his opps this weekend in Orlando when he not only put on a high-energy performance in the club but also decided to crowd-surf. During the time that he was at the mercy of his screaming fans when he dived recklessly into the audience, the rapper had his hat knocked off, and his $2 million chains were next. Lucky for 6ix9ine after his jewelry was yanked by fans, a member of his security team retrieved it from the ground.

Amidst the close-call performance, the New York rapper took to Instagram in true gang culture fashion to boast that he still has his chain. “He NoT GonNa bE Able tO cOmE ouTsiDE,” 6ix9ine captioned a video of the incident on the gram. “JUMPED IN THE CROWD WITH ALL MY JEWELRY 2,000,000 WORTH. REAL LIFE > THE INTERNET If you mad just say that don’t @ me.”

Many would think the rapper would consider taking a short hiatus from the stage after this incident, but instead, he continued to taunt his opps on social media, promoting yet another upcoming show in Miami. “THEY SAID HE CANT DO NO SHOWS IN AMERICA,” 6ix9ine wrote. “THIS SATURDAY MIAMI. MIAMI MARINE STADIUM. THE BEST PERFORMANCE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN !! SEE YOU THERE.”

While the rapper can simply opt to stay on the stage this time, some still question whether his live performances are a good idea right now. Do you think Tekashi 6ix9ine is taking a huge risk with this next show in Miami?

New York State Honors DMX With “Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons” Day On December 18th

DMX gets his own day in New York.

The former Ruff Ryders rapper will be remembered by many worldwide as a Hip Hop legend. Even as the rapper was laid to rest on Saturday, April 24, many fans found it hard to believe that DMX was no longer alive. Still, the memory of the rapper and his many contributions to Hip Hop stands as evidence of a life well-lived.

To commemorate this life, the state of New York is declaring the late rapper’s birthday, December 18, as “Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons Day.” Erica Ford made the announcement at the rapper’s funeral. The New York state flag that was flying on the day of X’s death was also presented to the family of the rapper by Ford, who said, “his lyrics were also rapped on the Senate floor by Senator Jamal Bailey who introduced a legislative resolution alongside Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins in his honor.”

Friends and family gathered on Saturday to pay their last respects to DMX, who died on April 9 after suffering a heart attack. The heart attack reportedly came after a drug overdose, the effects of which left the rapper in a vegetative state for the duration of a week leading up to his death.

The 50-year-old rap icon was open about his struggle with drug addiction. Nevertheless, his family and friends prioritized his legacy and contributions rather than his struggles.

The rapper’s 9-year-old daughter, Aaliyah expressed this during the memorial, “It makes me sad that my dad will never be able to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ ever to me again…..I know my dad is in heaven. Even though he can’t talk back, I know I can still talk to him. I think it’s good that I get to call my dad a legend. Rest easy, dad.”

There were similar tributes from several of his 15 children. Fellow celebrities also poured out tributes at the rapper’s memorial service held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. While the Ruff Ryders gathered on the stage for an emotional tribute, Kanye West and his choir basically brought the house down.

In addition, rapper Jadakiss reflected on DMX’s legacy in an emotional tribute. “Y’all know this is a big hit for us. The world know the Dog but we know a different Dog. When he comes to the town, he’s much different than the one they see on TV. It’s hurts anytime you lose a soldier but this one hurts different because he was the main piece on the board,” he said.

Other tributes came from Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean, Russell Simmons, DMX’s ex-wife Tashera Simmons.

Lil Mosey – BB Saggin Lyrics

[Intro]
Ooh, ooh
Yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah

[Chorus]
That my little brother Midget and he hold the clip for me
30 and an FN and we sprayin’ for a week
I was in Seattle, cause I missed the fucking streets
In the city, with my shooter, and we geekin’ on a beat
Flying to New York, I got my B.B. Saggin
Bitch, she think she special but I know she average
Thirty in my teeth, she think it’s so fantastic
Hundred for the whip, nigga swervin’ in the traffic

[Verse 1]
Hop in my whip across the border, and they didn’t stop me
And my nigga on probation and I have my glocky
I miss my brother Kari, he said don’t let no one stop me
I just met your bitch, and she said she wanna top me
I just one four six, and I’m coolin
Nigga you are lame, what you doin’?
With a bad bitch, and she movin’
We got pleasant club, that’s for shootin’

[Verse 2]
I just hit a lick, my bank maxed out, oh
Tossin’ and the city got packed out, uh
I just faced three woods, I might pass out
And that bitch she want me ’cause she seen I brought my racks out, uh
I just seen a thot, she in my hotel lobby
Ask me why I’m here, I say, “money is my hobby”
She don’t ask no questions, she goes straight to some sloppy
Pulled off in the beamer, and I met another thottie

[Chorus]
That my little brother Midget and he hold the clip for me
30 and an FN and we sprayin’ for a week
I was in Seattle, cause I missed the fucking streets
In the city, with my shooter, and we geekin’ on a beat
Flying to New York, I got my B.B. Saggin

R. Kelly Associate Michael Williams admits He Set Azriel Clary Car On Fire

Michael Williams, one of R. Kelly’s associates who was charged with arson after he set fire to a car belonging to Kelly’s ex-girlfriend who is testifying in the case, pleaded guilty when he appeared in court on Monday.

Williams, who is said to be a relative of Kelly’s former publicist, is facing a minimum of five years imprisonment when his sentencing comes up in October. In June 2020, the car of Kelly’s ex-girlfriend Azriel Clary was torched and badly burnt. Nobody was in the car or hurt from the incident. Clary claims that it was all an intimidation tactic for being an accuser in the rape trial of R. Kelly.

Clary, who went to live with the singer when she was 17 years old, says that she was sexually and physically abused by the R&B singer, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly. On social media, Clary had posted a photo of the badly burnt car and said that she was lucky to be alive since she believed that Williams intended to kill her and her family.

“So this is me at my lowest…someone not only set my car on fire at 3 am but they also made a gas line around my entire house, with intentions to burn my entire home down,” she said. “it was something that was premeditated, but the fact that someone would go to that extreme to harm me is sickening,” she said.

Williams, who took a plea deal for a reduced sentence, was charged with one count of arson. A witness tampering charge was dropped as part of the deal.

Williams was arrested as a suspect after police found records from Google that he had looked up Clary’s address in Florida using a Google search right before the arson attack. On Monday, at a court hearing in New York before pleading guilty, he said, “I drove from my house in Kissimee, Florida and deliberately set a car on fire in someone’s driveway.”

Police say along with the Google data, they also found surveillance footage of his car without license plates driving from the area as well as found cell phone records of his phone connecting to cell towers around Clary’s home location. They also found searches asking, “can you drive in Florida without a tag” and later his YouTube history, which included videos on witness intimidation and a website, “How Do Fertilizer Bombs Work,” all being the key pieces of evidence against Williams, 38.

Lbs Kee’vin – Run Wit It Lyrics

[Intro]
(Neilaworld)

[Chorus]
All these niggas in my business, all these bitches on my dick (Yeah)
Mix that Gucci and Dior, I spent your mortgage on this fit (Yeah)
You would think I'm from New York how I was sellin' dimes and nicks (Yeah)
I'm the same nigga, don't matter if I'm broke or if I'm rich (Yeah)
And this the story of a nigga who would stand down
No security with me, I know my way around
I got a bitch that'll get any nigga whereabouts
I drop that bag and I can make a nigga air it out

[Verse 1]
I ain't clearin' shit, if you heard a rumor, then run with it
I don't want your love, I just wanna f*ck and I'm done with it
I can't do the show, the promoter won't let my gun in it
If you lookin' for love in the streets, it ain't none in it
I ain't showin' favoritism, love my bitches all the same
Like Money Making Mitch, I love the hustle, love the game
I'll overkill a nigga if he reachin' for this chain
Speak on all the times I fed you if you speakin' on my name
And that's facts, nigga
I can't be around you if you clubbin' with a rat, nigga
Conversin' with the bosses at the table when I sat with 'em
I never lose my focus, stay on track and overlap niggas
You gotta have a solid resume to give me dap, nigga

[Verse 2]
Can't look at him the same, my nigga Iverson, he crossed me
I'll rock your ass to sleep, I strapped the pistol to the carseat
You deep up in that street life, one mistake'll be costly
Killers catchin' bodies, I'll never let 'em Moss me
I never been the cheap type, all my fabric expensive
Johnny for the win, I spent a dub to see the dentist
I'm ballin' and they broke, walk in the room and feel the tension
I used to be like them, but I just got up off the benches

Kevin Gates – Beat Box (Freestyle)

Shit. Yeah, I’m feelin’ like that
I’m in New York right now, you heard?
I’m a different kinda animal when I’m up here (I’m a silverback)
D-D-Daytrip took it to ten (Hey)

[Chorus:]
Takin’ these journeys where I’ma need an interpreter
Haven’t had a problem I couldn’t solve with the murderers
Forced entry, home invasion, I know the burglars
Pardon my thoughts, I had to put up the burglar bars
People done hurt us all
Icebox where my heart was, it don’t hurt at all
She got a murder charge
People done hurt us all
Icebox where my heart was, it don’t hurt at all
She got a murder charge
And he got a murder charge

A’ight, I’ma get it all out right here, you heard me?
This my healing process, you know what I’m sayin’?
I’m pressured

First time I ever been disappointed, think it came from my mother
I subconsciously engage in things that’s makin’ me suffer
And this in turn has an effect on how I deal with a woman
I try to turn ’em against their family just to prove that they love me
I put that iron on your cousin, I put that iron on your brother
And when they draw the chalk line, pretend that I don’t know nothin’
I’m not the one to cross now, I ain’t retire from thuggin’
Observe that I’m a boss now, I mail it out and say, “Fuck it”
Then slim, you won’t get walked down, if you survivin’, you lucky
You survivin’, you lucky, you survivin’, you lucky

Why I’m supposed to be givin’ a fuck, lil’ bitch? Uh, let me calm down
Heard your opinion and I’m not givin’ a shit, I’m really up now
In the H I went to Emit and got the pendant bust down
Talkin’ ’bout what you gon’ do to the kid, I’m out here shinin’, what now?
Applyin’ the pressure, she beggin’ to get my attention, but ain’t no love now
Say you fuckin’ with someone that fit my description, but it ain’t workin’ out
Personal trainin’ when I used to hit it, whip up and work it out
I’m really for certain now, I’m knowin’ my purpose now (I am)
My insecurity wiped out, I’m knowin’ my purpose now (I know)

When you find someone seekin’ acceptance, that’s dangerous
‘Cause they’re not just seekin’ acceptance from you, they seek acceptance wherever they can get it from
Even the opposition, yes, Lord

DMX In Vegetative State After Overdosing On Drugs

DMX is in a vegetative state at a New York hospital following a drug overdose.

The New York rap legend reportedly overdosed on drugs at his home on Friday night at approximately 11 pm. TMZ reported that he was rushed to a hospital in White Plains, New York, where he is currently admitted to the critical care unit. While some sources are saying he has some level of brain activity, doctors are cautioning that he might not make it as he remains in a vegetative state.

DMX drug overdose also reportedly triggered a heart attack. The former Ruff Ryders frontman has battled drug abuse for many years and has even opened up about how he believed he became addicted to drugs as early as age 14.

“I didn’t smoke cigarettes, I didn’t smoke weed, I didn’t do anything, I’m 14-years-old,” DMX recalls in an interview. The rap icon revealed that he was at a birthday party when his close friend tried to pass him a blunt which he refused because he didn’t smoke.

“He came back with a blunt rolled up. And as I’m counting the money, he passed the blunt,” X said while adding that it was Ready Ron who passed him the blunt that time, and he obliged and took it. “I was no longer focused on the money. I’ve never felt like this. It just f***ed me up,” he said.

DMX questioned why his close friend would do something like that to someone he looked up to and revealed that a monster was born that day, something he called a blessing and a curse. The blessing be it likely helped him to become one of the most successful and recognized names in hip hop of all time, and the curse being his lifelong battle with substance abuse.

In February 2016, DMX overdosed on drugs where he became unconscious and was rushed to a hospital. In that incident, police officers had to administer CPR because the rapper had no pulse when they arrived on the scene. DMX associates denied that the incident was too placed.

In October 2019, DMX checked himself into rehab following another relapse. He had been doing good since that rehab stint but has apparently relapse once again.

Joe Budden To The Grammys, “Nicki Minaj Needs Her Flowers”

Joe Budden is calling out the Grammys award committee for consistently snubbing Nicki Minaj and not recognizing her talent for shattering the glass ceiling as it were, paving the way for young rappers entering the game.

Joe Budden was speaking to the fact that the “The Pinkprint” artist has not been recognized by the Grammys in spite of being the blueprint for the new age rappers. Budden is not and was never a fan of Nicki Minaj. However, he says respect is due to the Trinidadian-born female rapper, who is one of the greatest rappers of the 2010s decade for her numerous awards and overall contribution to female rap.

The former Slaughterhouse rapper made the comments during the latest episode of his eponymous podcast, where he asked why the Recording Academy has failed to recognize the New York rapper’s achievements and dominating influence.

“Nicki Minaj needs her flowers. Whoever the Grammy board is, whoever’s on there, y’all are not the ones that get to determine that Nicki Minaj and all of her impact and influence don’t get to win an award,” Budden said. “I’m sorry. I’m done with those days. Y’all are not the fuckin’ gatekeepers, the barriers of entry—y’all are not any of that … And now we’re at a stage when we have to acknowledge the, not the impersonators, but the people who were inspired by that act. It’s the same thing like when some of these people, I see the Drake influence there; call me dick rider, whatever, who knows.”

Joe Budden said the awards Doja Cat and others received made him reflect on the fact that the Grammys might end up only giving Nicki her roses after she leaves, something that music culture has moved past. “But Nicki is in that same boat. I don’t think too many more years need to go by when she’s not awarded for her efforts, that’s how I felt watching Doja Cat and some of the winners there.”

Meanwhile, his co-hosts speculated how the media or the public might react with “flowers” galore if “god forbid, something were to happen to Nicki.”

Nicki Minaj has been recognized as one of the most influential artists in hip-hop over the past decade – dropping multiple platinum records and rising to the No. 1 spot on various charts and accumulating many notable awards.

She has received almost a dozen Grammy nominations but has not won a single category during her career, which spanned more than 15 years.

Role Model – Doyouseeit Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I can see us in a nice house, bigger than the White House, baby
Or I could see us in New York buying shit we can't afford, am I crazy? (Oh)
I picture everything's perfect, everything was worth all the waiting (Oh)
I haven't figured out the ending, I'm only just pretending, oh-oh, yeah

[Pre-Chorus]
I fantasize quite a bit, quite a bit, oh
And I fantasize quite a bit, quite a bit, oh

[Chorus]
Ooh, do you see it?
Ooh, do you see it like I do?
Do you see it?
Ooh, do you see it like I do?

[Verse 2]
And I saw it back in high school, thought we'd be together
There's some things I never said but I been fallin' for forever

We just never got the time right, waitin' on the weather
But I put you in the limelight just to see it better (Oh)
Hey, I had a dream we got married, didn't wanna wake up
Wakin' up is scary if everything is made up
Do you do the same thing when I'm not around?
When you go to sleep do you see me in the crowd?
[Pre-Chorus]
I fantasize quite a bit, quite a bit, oh
And I fantasize quite a bit, quite a bit, oh

[Chorus]
Ooh, do you see it?
Ooh, do you see it like I do?
Do you see it?
Ooh, do you see it like—
Like, ooh, do you see it?

Do you see it?
Ooh, do you see it like I do?

Cardi B Says She Plans To Tell Her Side Of Assault Story

Cardi B says she wants to tell her side of the story as soon as her New York assault case is over.

Cardi B was charged with assault back in 2019 stemming from an alleged fight at a Queen’s strip club. According to reports, she allegedly ordered attacks on two bartenders, Jade, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s current girlfriend, and Baddie G. The attack was allegedly triggered following accusations that Jade was sleeping with Offset. Both bartenders claim they got injured during the brawl when Cardi B’s entourage threw bottles and chairs.

For this incident, Cardi B was indicted on 14 charges, which included two counts of assault. She later rejected a plea deal. Since this incident and the following court appearance and charges, many individuals have had a lot to say, especially those who do not support the rapper. On Wednesday, Cardi tweeted, ” I can’t wait till sh*t is over so I can tell my part of sh*t. Motherf****rs really ran with the I send Nikkas to touch b**ches sh*t for too long.”

One user responded to her tweet writing, “NAH FR BECAUSE THEY BEEN LYING ON YOUR NAME FOR SO LONG CLEAR IT BAE.” Cardi B quickly jumped on the opportunity to double down on her previous statement, directly retweeting the fan and adding, “Super clear it ….with Receipts and all!”

The Bronx rapper was, of course, referring to the narrative that many have voiced over the years that she allegedly sent men to assault the strippers in the club as she believes Offset was cheating with her.

Offset and Cardi B got married secretly back in 2017 and shared a daughter named Kulture together. They have had a rocky relationship with the “WAP” rapper, even filing for divorce last year. She later had the case dismissed “without prejudice.” They later rekindled their romance to the disbelief of fans. Cardi B notoriously then went on Instagram and told her fans she was “crazy” and admitted Offset was her “best friend.” Cardi also infamously released an album, Invasion Of Privacy, which detailed Offset’s infidelities and her own threats as a response.

We will watch to see how this plays out!

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Girlfriend Ella Bands Tweets About Break

It seems A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s girlfriend Ella Bands is ready to be single again.

Everyone seems to be airing the details of their love life, sordid or otherwise, on social media. This time around it is New York rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s girlfriend Ella Bands. Ella has apparently decided she no longer wants to be in a relationship and took to Twitter to let her feelings be known.

“Treat me right, I do the same. I’m just ready to be single at this point,” she wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted.

Ella has been in a tumultuous relationship for the past few years with A Boogie wit da Hoodie. However, the couple did seem to be making an effort to keep things peaceful for the sake of their daughter and son. She gave birth last summer, but from all indications, they are still at odds.

Treat me right, I do the same

— @SLAYBYELLA_ ? (@ella_thereal) February 10, 2021

Ella has previously accused A Boogie of cheating on her. Last January, photos of the rapper went viral of him getting cozy with another female. When the photos surfaced, Ella was pregnant with their second child. While no one can say at this point what prompted the tweets earlier today, it’s evident all in not well in their camp.

I am sure we will soon get the full story or a version of it to substantiate that deleted tweet pretty soon. Let’s hope they can continue to keep the peace for the sake of the kids.

Keyshia Cole Explains Why Ashanti Verzuz Was Again Canceled

Keyshia Cole offered concerned fans an explanation why her Verzuz battle with Ashanti didn’t happen.

Fans of Ashanti and Keyshia Cole will have to wait even longer for their Verzuz showdown. COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of dozens of concerts over the past year, and it seems that even virtual Verzuz battles are not immune. An announcement on the official Instagram account confirmed that the upcoming match-up between the two R&B stars that was set to take place on Saturday but has now been postponed.

“I’m so sorry the @verzuztv event didn’t happen!” Keyshia Cole wrote on Instagram. “I want you guys to kno, I really think @applemusic didn’t want to put staff/Production in danger along with @ashanti and myself. Due to the recent spike with the Corona virus …. I kno you all had get togethers and parties planned in states that were open. I’m so sorry! I love you guys, and thank you for the continued love and support over all these years!!! I BEEN READY! And I STAY READY.”

“This has been an emotional week. In addition, as COVID-19 numbers continue to increase, safety is a top priority for us,” read the statement from the Verzuz team. “As much as we enjoy having everyone together in the same room, to protect the artists and everyone who works with us in putting the shows together, we’ll be going back to separate locations for a bit.”

Unfortunately for lovers of Keyshia and Ashanti, this is not the first time that their hopes have been put on hold. The original duel between the pair was scheduled for December 12th but had to be put on ice as the “Foolish” singer tested positive for coronavirus. Although she has recovered, it is understandable that the Verzuz organizers want to take every precaution with COVID-19 cases climbing by more than 200,000 per day.

The news of the postponement was met with much disappointment, with many on Twitter saying they no longer cared about the battle between the New York artist and the “Heaven Sent” singer. “If Ashanti and Keyshia scared to battle Verzuz just say that,” read one tweet.

Although organizers have not revealed a new date for the face-off, let’s hope that the third time’s the charm.

Nicki Minaj Cut Tracy Chapman A 6-Figure Check In Copyright Lawsuit Settlement

Nicki Minaj and Tracy Chapman have reached a 6-figure settlement in their ongoing copyright lawsuit.

Nicki Minaj and Tracy Chapman have reached a settlement over the New York rapper’s alleged copyright infringement of one of the iconic singers’ songs. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicki Minaj will pay Tracy Chapman $450,000 for a remade version of her song “Baby can I hold you.” Chapman’s estate alleged that Minaj’s song “Sorry” was a derivative of the popular hit.

The settlement agreement became public on Thursday in a California federal court, which showed Chapman accepting the offer to settle. The case will no longer proceed to trial as both parties save on attorney’s costs.

The case was filed in October 2018, and the lawsuit came a couple of months after Nicki launched her album “Queen’. While ‘Sorry’ featuring Nas wasn’t on the album, Nicki allegedly leaked the song to Funkmaster Flex, a popular radio DJ, and from there, the Barbs pushed the song across socials and the internet.

According to the lawsuit, Nicki Minaj’s rep sought a license to make a derivative of Chapman’s song as she is on a list of artistes that is not to be sampled. In spite of the efforts, Chapman refused the request, but Nicki still made the song, and it got out through the leak.

While at first instance, a court found that Nicki Minaj had a fair use right to use the song in the studio to enable musical experimentation, the evidence regarding the leak and distribution of the song was in issue.

Tracy Chapman commenting about the settlement said, “I am glad to have this matter resolved and grateful for this legal outcome which affirms that artists’ rights are protected by law and should be respected by other artists.”

She added, “I was asked in this situation numerous times for permission to use my song; in each instance, politely and in a timely manner, I unequivocally said no. Apparently Ms. Minaj chose not to hear and used my composition despite my clear and express intentions.”

Chapman also said the lawsuit was a last “resort- pursued in an effort to defend myself and my work and seek protection for the creative enterprise and expression of songwriters and independent publishers like myself.”

Mike Tyson’s Daughter Tried To Knockout Boosie Badazz

Mike Tyson says his daughter tried to physically fight Boosie Badazz during their interview.

Less than two months ago Boosie Badazz found himself in a tense situation after he sat down to have a conversation with Mike Tyson on his “Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson” podcast. Tyson wasted no time in confronting the rapper about his transphobic comments about Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Zaya. It seems Tyson’s daughter also shared his aggression towards Boosie and according to Mike during a recent interview with Zab Judah, she flew all the way from New York to Los Angeles to fight him. He also said he had to calm his daughter down.

He explained that he stood up for Zaya Wade because some of his best friends could be gay and he probably just “don’t know it yet.” He continued, “That’s just who we are as human beings, I’m not saying Boosie is gay.” He said what angered him was the fact that Boosie lacked empathy. Boosie Badazz confirmed that the two had a spirited discussion in which he stated his views. He added that eventually, she walked out because they didn’t see eye to eye. Tyson added that since the confrontation he has a new respect for his daughter.

In the original interview on Tyson’s podcast on October 25, he asked Boosie, “Why do you say things about people who might be a homosexual? Why do you say that about them? Do you feel there’s a possibility that you’re a homosexual and by disrespecting them you further yourself from being a homosexual? I’m thinking you may like homosexuals.”

Boosie Badazz tried to stand his ground and replied, “I really commented on the Dwyane Wade situation because I got offended because it’s a child. That’s why I really got offended, you know. If it was a motherf***ing 19-year-old, 18-year-old, grown person, I probably wouldn’t have, I know I wouldn’t have said anything.”

Tyson then responded, “I agree with you 100 percent, me, I agree with you right, but check this out. Who the f-ck am I to say anything? What I think don’t mean a motherf-cking thing.” The conversation went viral shortly after the interview.
Dwyane Wade even thanked Tyson for standing up for him. “I actually talked to Mike about that earlier in the pandemic — we had a conversation and I appreciated it. He’s one of those people … he’s so smart, he’s so educated and knowledgeable about life and for him to drop that nugget on the world … to me, it was great to hear him say that,” Wade said. In February the Wade family came out in support for Zaya’s transition and Boosie pleaded with the basketball star on Instagram to not let Zaya “become a girl.”

In a video, he said, “Like, bruh, for real, if he gonna be gay, let him be gay. But don’t cut his d-ck off, bruh. Don’t dress him as a woman, dawg. He’s 12 years old. He’s not up there yet. He hasn’t made his final decisions yet. Don’t cut his f***ing d-ck off, Dwyane Wade.”

Check out Tyson’s comments about the interview below.

Public Enemy – Hannibal Lecture Lyrics

[Malcolm X]
Being here in America doesn’t make you an American
Being born here in America doesn’t make you an American
Why if birth made you an American you wouldn’t need any legislation
You wouldn’t need any amendments to the Constitution
I don’t see any American dream, I see an American nightmare
I’m one of the 42 million black people who are the victims of America

[Paris]
Aiyyo we all in together now, all in together now
Hard truth soldierin, hard truth soldier SHIT
Keep on servin ’em, cause you know we do work
Mashin in my Chevy down the streets of New York, they feel me
I smooth grip, and hit up the spot
Snatch Flav as my dual pipes burn up the block
We bumpin hardcore, heavyweight, b-boy blast
On the street they hear my beat, my 69 is fast
Smash down Lennox, head up to the ‘View
Some reporter wanna holla and I said it was cool
Wanna know about the album and the Enemy’s new
How P.E. and Guerilla Funk is keepin it movin
Breakin bread talkin politics, you know how it go
‘Bout the war and how it’s shitty that we murder for dough
Then the reporter asked a question, that I had to mash
How, I would act if every day was maybe my last
How if every day I worried ’bout my family in this
I’d be murdered on these street in a puddle of piss
Or if I would get some news that my brother had died
If they ran up in my house and held my kids and my wife
Or if we was looted and somebody took all our thangs
If my sister was abducted, never heard from again

I began to compare it, so he could observe
When I made the parallels with how they livin abroad
I can’t ignore it, these pigs ride deep in the streets
Cap a nigga for his wallet, beat another for free
And the cold part about it, life is cheaper than that
Down there people on the bottom kill each other for scraps
Imagine that, propoganda got the people confused
Damned by the media that keep ’em subdued
I been around the world, seen a lot of shit in my life
Same sirens, same ghetto birds swirlin at night
Same racism, profilin each of us all
Same outsiders where we live enforcin the law
Gats clappin on the streets, gunplayin with heat
Same prisons full of brothers herded in like sheep
Same turncoats that’ll burn folks for pay
Same conditions in communities we die everyday
Same brutality and ignorance, now what will it take
To break the motherf*ckin cycle, get the people away?
That’s why I’m fresh out of tears for ’em, all out of tears for ’em
Even though my heart goes out, what the f*ck you cryin ’bout?
Money for rebuilding but, what about home?
When the way we live is shitty where’s the love for our own?
I can’t decide it, it’s real, I hit you with proof
Maybe I’ll be suicided cause I hit you with truth
See they kill for less than what we say on records to you
Hear the message in the music from a rebel to you, now listen

[Outro: repeat 6X to end]
Save my life you gotta, save my life you gotta {*3X*}
Save us, save us

Curly J – Star Lyrics

We a star a now
We pop out they know we going far now, we on now
Oh we get it, now we're on now, its going down

You walk on cement I run in sand
When they say I can't I show I can
Imma get to the bag and do it again
I'm throwing these bandz like shuriken
Man I'm just getting started I might just pop out in Charlotte
Wether you like me or not imma get it regardless
These niggas think that they hot, we gonna see who get the farthest
Imma show y'all who the hardest artist out of New York
I ball like Kobe when its the 4th yea
(Nah nah nah, nah nah nah)

[Post-Chorus]
I came from the mud I came from the dirt
Just like a diamond you know what I'm worth
Just 'cause these bandz she lift up her skirt
She let me f*ck just for a purse
You say you want bars you ain't even listening
Niggas be lying he ain't even hitting it
Might hit the club just to show we lit with it
Pull out the bandz just to show we getting it
Pull out the Glock just to show the grip with it huh
Big bag all of my haters they big mad
Look at my jeans its a big sag, yeah huh
Big bag all of my haters they big mad
Look at my jeans its a big sag, yeah

Kodaline – This Must Be Christmas Lyrics

Play this song

[Intro]
Ooh

[Verse 1]
It was cold in the night
On a long and dark December
And I’m drinkin’ in the local bar alone
There’s a man singin’ out
Singin’ words I can’t remember
Something ‘bout a tale of old New York

[Pre-Chorus]
Pour another whiskey for the road
‘Cause that’s the only spirit that I know

[Chorus]
Singin’ oh, this must be Christmas
‘Cause I’m sick of the songs that the radio plays
But I’m drinkin’ and singin’ along anyways
Singin’ oh, this must be Christmas
‘Cause there’s only so much that my body can take
But I’m drinkin’ and singin’ along anyways
Singin’ oh, oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh
Mmm

[Verse 2]
Had a fight with some guy
‘Cause he said I kissed his sister
Might have done, I guess we’ll never know

[Pre-Chorus]
So pour another whiskey for the road
‘Cause that’s the only spirit that I know

[Chorus]
Singin’ oh, this must be Christmas
‘Cause I’m sick of the songs that the radio plays
But I’m drinkin’ and singin’ along anyways
Singin’ oh, this must be Christmas
‘Cause there’s only so much that my body can take
But I’m drinkin’ and singin’ along anyways
Singin’ oh, oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh
Mmm
Singin’ oh, oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh
Mmm

[Outro]
So pour another whiskey for the road
‘Cause that’s the only spirit that I know
Oh

Chris Travis – I Know Lyrics

[Verse]
Say baby, we can run the streets
I’m rolling up, herb and she kissing on my cheek
My old girl tripping she won’t let me be
She said my new bitch, made me weak
Why these niggas won’t let me be?
They mad I got bitches and my steez so unique
Since a young nigga, I practice what I preach
Better watch ya mouth ’cause you sow what you reap
Or is it reap what you sow?
I sent this shit backward ’cause I thought that you should know
See niggas nowadays just don’t have no hope
They don’t pay attention, they just going with the flow
I might have to lead them on
Just like a teasing bitch in her leggings and her draws
All my old friends need to let me go
They see a nigga getting bank they try to tag along

[Verse 2]
I’m in New York, specifically Manhattan
I’m with a bitch, we staying at the Mad Hatter
But f*ck boy my life something special
I made it far knowing I’m a down south rebel
At the bar, drinking wine, all in her ear
Feeling her head up, saying shit she wanna hear
She said she ain’t want nothing but my time
She thought a nigga pretty, shit I ain’t spend a dime
Like damn I’m thinking in my mind
I can’t f*cking leave this girl, I’ma give it time
I’ma let the heat simmer down
And f*ck her ass tonight while I still got the time
You niggas is so out of line
I got your girl at my show, the V.I.P line
Like nigga let’s be for real
A young nigga from the South, Ima keep it real

Okta Logue – Devil’s Dance Lyrics

The hours just slipped through
It feels so empty again
You look so sad in the morning light
I’d be confused, too, you’re drifting in time
Can you read in between these lines?

What’s left on the menu?
You’ve got the money to spend
You are your own favorite friend, you shine
You don’t let them fool you
But you’re frozen in time, in the ruins of ‘69

Stuck in a phone booth
You’re repeating the same drunk dials
Is there someone to hold you
When you’re hanging from bourbon skies?

Not every bitter end hides a second chance
Down the avenue of drawn-out nights

Falling off the edge, you do the devil’s dance
You’re rolling with the cool kids in town

There’s no meaning in truth at 2
It’ll change around 5, a variation of lies aligned
You got the tools to, to make it feel alright
In your own New York state of mind

Who’s left to hold you
As you’re cutting off every tie?
As cold as the Danube, in the winter of ’89

Not every bitter end hides a second chance
Down the avenue of drawn-out nights
Falling off the edge, you do the devil’s dance
You’re rolling with the cool kids in town
