Vybz Kartel & His Sons Dominate YouTube Trending With 3 New Songs This Weekend

Vybz Kartel and his sons are looking to preserve the legacy created by the senior Palmer, and they are doing so in fine style by holding the top 3 spots on YouTube’s local trending chart.

In an Instagram post made this morning, Vybz Kartel uploaded a screenshot of the Trending videos on YouTube in Jamaica, captioned #Trifecta. The screenshot shows the number 1 trending video going to Likkle Addi’s “Style,” which has gained more than 138,000 views in one day.

Second on the trending list is Likkle Vybz’s “Give Thanks,” which was also uploaded in the past 24 hours. His video has just over 129,000 views. Rounding out the top 3 is the music video for “Dark Ages” by Tommy Lee Sparta, which features Vybz Kartel. That video has 675,000 views and was posted a week ago.

Despite being incarcerated, Vybz Kartel has continued to produce top-notch music, collaborating with some of the biggest works in Dancehall in recent times. His sons Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz have also followed the Gaza Boss’ footsteps and are making musical waves of their own.

They first ventured into music around 2014 when they released “Hero.” Having produced recent works such as “Hear Dem” and their EP “Skinny Jeans” together, the duo who call themselves Uptown Gaza (UTG) has steadily been gaining fame. They both also featured on their father’s latest project titled Dancehall Royalty.

In recent interviews with Winford Williams’ Onstage, both Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz revealed that they would be taking over their father’s record label Adidjahiem Records.

Likkle Addi was recently the center of a media controversy when it was revealed that he welcomed a baby at 15. While his father commented on the issue, basically saying his grandchild would be well taken care of so the critics should hush, Likkle Addi has not publicly spoken about the child.

Kartel’s success on the charts has been welcomed and celebrated by fans and fellow artists alike. Commenting under Kartel’s Instagram post, singer Spice said, “Gaza run the world.” ZJ Chrome also commented, “1DON.”

Vybz Kartel schooled his son Likkle Vybz about the downsides of marriages in their new video.

“Yea You,” is the latest track sung by Vybz Kartel and his oldest son Likkle Vybz, which arrives with a new visuals. The track is from the Palmer’s recently released EP Dancehall Royalty. The opening of the video features Likkle Vybz in a stretch limo with a bottle of Moet in hand, vibing with a female while he deejays. The song is all about the prominence of the Gaza brand and also explores marriage and what happens after a divorce. The dancehall icon sings, “Married to the money, gold digger? No never When yuh get divorced yuh ah get embezzled. Half ah yuh money when di case done settled.”

Throughout the video, Vybz Kartel questions which song and which studio did the woman record. “Babes mek mi ask yuh a riddle. Which one ah mi song dem yuh write? Yea you. Which b****laat studio yuh voice?”

Likkle Vybz also asks the same question to persons who question his success and money. He sings: “Man ah star not rocket, Work hard, got that profit. Man ah star like Rocky. F*** gyal den block traffic.”

The fans were quick to point out how much the young Palmer looks like his famous father. He also has a similar sound. Earlier this year during an interview it was revealed that Likkle Vybz and his younger brother Likkle Addi would be taking over their father’s business pretty soon. Likkle Vybz will turn 18 in April.

Vybz Kartel Releases New EP “Dancehall Royalty” With His Sons UTG

Vybz Kartel’s latest project Dancehall Royalty is now out.

As promised, Vybz Kartel released a five-track project EP. The album is called Dancehall Royalty, and features his sons Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi. Other artistes featured on the EP include Renee 630 and his right-hand man Sikka Rymes. It’s about 16 minutes long. There’s no stopping the prolific artiste who has been behind bars on a murder charge since 2011 but has released numerous projects that have dominated Jamaican airwaves.

In fact, he hasn’t slowed down at all and remains the most streamed artiste in Jamaica. This is his third project in the span of a year. The first release, To Tanesha, was also dropped in the first month of the year in 2020, and he followed that up with Of Dons & Divas last June.

Vybz Kartel remains one of the most influential musicians in Jamaica, which was shown by how many birthday greetings he got via social media yesterday, January 7. He hinted last December that he would once again be releasing music to start the new year. He shared the news with a post on Instagram along with his sons and their mother, Shorty.

Last Wednesday, January 6, he posted a snippet of one of the upcoming tracks. He captioned that post, “this friday 1.8.21,” along with a series of tags. The album cover is a portrait of his family, indicating that they are the royal family of dancehall. So far, the album is available on Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud.

He shared the news about the release early this morning, January 8, via Instagram. In a later post, he said, “#1 debut thanks to #GAZANATION”.

Vybz Kartel & Sikka Rymes Drops “Dirty John Crow” Video Off ‘Dancehall Royalty’

Vybz Kartel released the “Dirty John Crow” music video in tandem with his new EP Dancehall Royalty.

The first album of 2021 by dancehall mogul Vybz Kartel is available to listen to now. The deejay who has been promoting the project all week, released a music video for one of the tracks from the EP titled “Dirty John Crow”. The Sikka Rymes-assisted track is an upbeat jam with a hardcore delivery of sexually explicit rhymes.

“Mi jus roll down yuh panty so gently / Set yuh pon yuh belly watch yuh p***y looking at me / So mi force up mi c***y till it buck inna yuh belly,” Kartel deejays on the new track.

The music video has a dark undertone with Sikka Rymes appearing as a seemingly devious priest. In the opening scene, the deejay arrives holding a lit candle and accompanied by an eerie group of women who are scantily-clad in full black and fishnet stockings.

The make-up and costume design likened the video vixens to the devil’s spawns and it seems Sikka Rymes is the leader. A hearse serves as a prop in one morbid scene where they mysteriously approach a black casket. Alas, the mood abruptly changes as the women soon begin to gyrate their rumps and perform provocative dances while giving the camera sultry looks – something a bit more typical of Vybz Kartel visuals.

Dancehall Royalty features four other tracks: “Titanium Steel”, “My Own World”, “Popular” and “Yea You”. In addition to Sikka Rymes, Renee 6:30, Likkle Addi, and Likkle Vybz all guest star on the project. As Vybz Kartel announced to fans around midnight when he dropped off the new visuals, the EP is now available in digital stores including Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify and more.
