Vybz Kartel & His Sons Dominate YouTube Trending With 3 New Songs This Weekend

Vybz Kartel and his sons are looking to preserve the legacy created by the senior Palmer, and they are doing so in fine style by holding the top 3 spots on YouTube’s local trending chart.

In an Instagram post made this morning, Vybz Kartel uploaded a screenshot of the Trending videos on YouTube in Jamaica, captioned #Trifecta. The screenshot shows the number 1 trending video going to Likkle Addi’s “Style,” which has gained more than 138,000 views in one day.

Second on the trending list is Likkle Vybz’s “Give Thanks,” which was also uploaded in the past 24 hours. His video has just over 129,000 views. Rounding out the top 3 is the music video for “Dark Ages” by Tommy Lee Sparta, which features Vybz Kartel. That video has 675,000 views and was posted a week ago.

Despite being incarcerated, Vybz Kartel has continued to produce top-notch music, collaborating with some of the biggest works in Dancehall in recent times. His sons Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz have also followed the Gaza Boss’ footsteps and are making musical waves of their own.

They first ventured into music around 2014 when they released “Hero.” Having produced recent works such as “Hear Dem” and their EP “Skinny Jeans” together, the duo who call themselves Uptown Gaza (UTG) has steadily been gaining fame. They both also featured on their father’s latest project titled Dancehall Royalty.

In recent interviews with Winford Williams’ Onstage, both Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz revealed that they would be taking over their father’s record label Adidjahiem Records.

Likkle Addi was recently the center of a media controversy when it was revealed that he welcomed a baby at 15. While his father commented on the issue, basically saying his grandchild would be well taken care of so the critics should hush, Likkle Addi has not publicly spoken about the child.

Kartel’s success on the charts has been welcomed and celebrated by fans and fellow artists alike. Commenting under Kartel’s Instagram post, singer Spice said, “Gaza run the world.” ZJ Chrome also commented, “1DON.”

As promised, Vybz Kartel released a five-track project EP. The album is called Dancehall Royalty, and features his sons Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi. Other artistes featured on the EP include Renee 630 and his right-hand man Sikka Rymes. It’s about 16 minutes long. There’s no stopping the prolific artiste who has been behind bars on a murder charge since 2011 but has released numerous projects that have dominated Jamaican airwaves.

Vybz Kartel remains one of the most influential musicians in Jamaica, which was shown by how many birthday greetings he got via social media yesterday, January 7. He hinted last December that he would once again be releasing music to start the new year. He shared the news with a post on Instagram along with his sons and their mother, Shorty.

Last Wednesday, January 6, he posted a snippet of one of the upcoming tracks. He captioned that post, “this friday 1.8.21,” along with a series of tags. The album cover is a portrait of his family, indicating that they are the royal family of dancehall. So far, the album is available on Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud.

He shared the news about the release early this morning, January 8, via Instagram. In a later post, he said, “#1 debut thanks to #GAZANATION”.

Vybz Kartel’s Wife Shorty Shares PDA Photo On His 45th Birthday, “My husband birthday loading”

Vybz Kartel celebrates his 45th birthday today (January 7) and judging from his wife Shorty’s recent posts on IG, it will be lit.

Vybz Kartel might be in jail, but he is still receiving love from his baby mother and common-law wife, Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson, who is anticipating the Dancehall icon’s birthday on January 7, 2021. The two have been together for over a decade and share three sons, and while they have shared many wonderful moments in public, the two have also shared their fair share of pain as Shorty had had a stillbirth baby girl. They two have also had several spats over the dancehall artiste cheating on Shorty, including once when she allegedly stabbed him in his side after he brought a woman over to one of their homes.

Nevertheless, the artiste seems to have the loyalty of his lady love in spite of the breakup rumors and an album chronicling Kartel’s pain released in 2020. On Instagram on Wednesday, She posted a photograph of the two kissings with the caption “my husband birthday loading,” along with the 100, heart and party emojis.

Among those also sharing in wishing the ‘Worl Boss’ were also his co-accused Shawn Storm, who posted three IG feed posts in tribute to his friend as he promised a festive birthday. One of the posts, a side profile image of Kartel with caption read “uhyuh mean a mi g Suh one more Post @VybzKartel More Life and blessings and a nuff nuff nuff nuff nuff more fi fwd mi boss.”
