Koffee’s “Lockdown” Is YouTube Most-streamed Song Out Of Jamaica In 2020

Koffee remains one of the top artistes out of Jamaica for a second straight year.

This year proved to be a challenge for the music industry and many musicians alike. Many had to find new ways of keeping their career alive. Some flourished like Koffee, who continued on her upward trajectory. She will also be able to end the year on a high as it’s been revealed that her song “Lockdown” was the number one streamed YouTube song in Jamaica.

The track has over 38 million views on YouTube at the moment and climbing. Coming in second is Shenseea and Tarrus Riley’s hit collaboration, “Lighter” with 34 million views. Alkaline’s “Ocean Wave” comes in at third with 11.5 million views. Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth” took the fourth spot with 8.7 million views, while Teejay rounds out the top five with “From Rags to Riches” getting 8.5 million views.

Lockdown” was released in July and, within two days attracted a million views on YouTube. It was a sign that the single would do well as the Grammy-winning songstress became the first reggae artiste to get to that mark in such a little amount of time. The song also held steady at number one on the local charts for many weeks. When the song came out, Koffee spoke with The Gleaner and said that she was humbled and excited by the response.

She spoke with The Gleaner again following the revelation that her song had topped the charts. She explained some of the motivation behind writing the song.

“At the time I wrote it ( Lockdown), it was the beginning of the pandemic and I was looking forward to being able to go out again and have fun. I’m glad people were able to relate to it,” she said. She added that 2020 had been an interesting year, which was filled with ups and downs, and that she’s “just happy we are able to still connect with each other, especially through music.”

One of her most successful tracks to date, “Toast,” also maintains impressive numbers on YouTube and has over 152 million views. Her other hits for this year have also easily crossed the million mark showing that she definitely has international appeal. “Pressure,” which was also released this year, has almost 1.5 million views, and the remix, which features veteran Buju Banton, has over 4 million.

Koffee has maintained that her primary interest is in connecting with people through her music and not in the numbers. “I try to keep my mind focused on the music. I think that for me, as an artiste, I want people to connect with the music I put out. I’m always happy when I can reach people on that level,” she said.

Jason Derulo & His Gorgeous GF Jena Frumes Spends Holiday In Jamaica

Jamaica is the perfect destination for the holidays, just ask Jason Derulo and Jena Frumes.

Jason Derulo has been vacationing in Jamaica with his model girlfriend, Jena Frumes, as the pair enjoys the warm tropics and Jamaican hospitality. The R&B singer showed off his ripped, sexy body in swim trunks with his t-shirt tucked in to the side on Monday afternoon on Instagram. Looking oiled and sleek, he captioned the photo “jungle workout,” along with a gorilla emoji.

Many commented on the artist’s discipline and his results in the middle of the Christmas season, while others are taking a break from the gym as they enjoy the delicacies in what remains of a mostly sordid year for most.

Fans joked with Derulo over his caption, “what you doing in a jungle topless! You know those animals gonna get jelly.” Others wanted to know where he was staying in the island “are you going to tell us what parish u staying in thou.”

Shenseea Appears To Have a Wardrobe Malfunction On IG

Shenseea seemingly had a wardrobe malfunction on Instagram.

24-year-old Shenseea has marked her place in dancehall as one of the most beautiful female acts to have come out of Jamaica. Through her work as a songwriter and entertainer, she has shown that her beauty is only one side of her story, and she can sing as well as deejay, much like many other superstars.

The Pretty Little Thing ambassador recently dropped a new video to her Instagram page promoting her new single for Chimney Records titled “Upset.” The track has been trending nicely on Youtube with over 267,521 views since Dec 21. Shen reached out to her Instagram fans to find out what were a few of their “favorite line from #UPSET.”

The singer got back just over 2500 comments, with many of the responses being actual lyrics. There were also comments from persons who were watching the video she posted a bit closer than most. If you were one of those persons, you would have caught a slight slip of the nipple that occurred as she flaunted her Pretty Little Thing get-up. While the singer quickly fixed her bikini top and carried on with her delivery, the split second was all that was needed by some onlookers.

“Titi jumping out part my fav,” mentioned one fan.

This is not the first time that Shen’s nips have made an appearance in public. Back in 2018, while performing at a packed concert, Shen had to escort one of her breasts back until the covers of her top. The action was also captured and shared on social media.

Jamaicans are very bold when it comes to clothing, so one can expect a few wardrobe malfunctions here and there.

Jahmiel Sheds Light On Prophecy That Saved His Life & Why He Diss Vybz Kartel

Jahmiel shed some light on a life changing moment earlier this year, plus why he dissed Vybz Kartel in a song.

Jamaica’s conscious singjay Jahmiel has been touring the world extensively since finding his major-breakout hit “Gain The World” five years ago. The shackles placed on the planet by COVID-19 have grounded numerous artistes, Jahmiel included. Jahmiel has taken the time to reassess not only his career but also his place in the world. The Patriotz leader is currently back in Jamaica after spending time in the states amongst Mavado and Alkaline, who are the other members of the MVP trio of which he is a part.

Jahmiel recently sat down for a tell-all interview with Teach from the Teach Dem Youtube Channel. During the 1 hour and 44 minutes interview, Jahmiel spoke of the support he got from his two parents in his pursuit of honing his talent. This was materialized from the age of 7 when he did his first stage show. With the help of his dad, the “Real Father” singer would go on to secure a song and video at the age of 12, going on to 13. He detailed his journey after high school, as he searched for that one hit record to help lift his family out of poverty.

After linking with numerous high profile producers, it proved ironic that the big break would come from 3 house down from his, via Quantanium Records. The interview proceeded with Jahmiel speaking on the hights of his success during which he has toured Africa, Europe, America, Canada, and numerous Caribbean territories. He also touched on the lows of his career, such as the high profile disputes with Tommy Lee, Vershon, and Chronic Law, that somewhat tainted his conscious image. Jahmiel is now under new management from Sweet Music, yet that move is dwarfed by the shifting in thinking he had to perform after receiving a stern warning from a practical stranger.

During a recent Entertainment Report interview, Jahmiel had made mention of the incident but refused to go into details. While chatting with Teach, he revealed that dark unseen energies were sent his way and initiated a deterioration of his health. He explains that visits to a medical doctor proved futile in figuring out what was happening. His cure came through a restrengthened faith in God which was applied through numerous prayers from family members.

“All me can say God real breda,” preached Jahmiel as he recounted the supposed incident of witchcraft that he was trapped in earlier this year. “Me go through a spiritual warfare, believe it or not. No physical weapon couldn’t help me a the faith inna the Almighty take me through.”

“Wa so scary bout it is that a elder lady see me car park up outside and a say ‘who drive tha car ya?’” The “True Colours” singer explained. The elder then requested the presence of the car’s owner after explaining to his mom that she had a prophetic dream which saw major destruction in his near future. He was urged by the unknown female to change his way of living before it was too late. Ironically, 2 weeks following that incident the singer would be hit with the unknown illness resulting in massive hair loss among other symptoms.

When asked if he knew who had it out for him he said, “Me no know who try offa me eno but it make me stronger.”

He continued, “Like me always a ask God fi show me the way cause sometimes me get confused. Inna this world weh we live, sometimes me get confused and no know wa fi believe breda. It so happen that him send somebody right at my doorstep who me not even know and it just change me life. Me did always know the path me de pon but me did get distracted.”

The singer’s change is already being reflected on recent releases such as “Guide My Steps” and “Love Lost.”

You can check out the complete interview below.

Shaggy Featured On The Remake Of Christmas Classic “Feliz Navidad”

Christmas is in the air, and few tracks welcome the season in the Caribbean, like the timeless classic “Feliz Navidad.” Now the celebrated tune is getting a facelift after 50 years, and it will feature Dancehall superstar Shaggy.

The release of the track, which will also commemorate its fifty-year anniversary, will feature both Shaggy and the original composer Jose Feliciano. He will be joining an all-star cast as Michael Bolton, and several other artists will feature on the remake. The tentative number given for the remix is 30 artists so far.

Feliciano said, “The idea of Feliz Navidad was to try and unite the people. My thought when I wrote the song was that it didn’t matter what language you were singing in, the feeling of Christmas is privy to all of us.” The 75-year-old is a nine-time Grammy winner. He added that it was a dream come through for so many artists to come together to help him spread holiday cheer.

It will be quite a finished product considering that the song has just 19 words. The song will be distributed through Amazon Music this Friday, November 27. The recording was done remotely.

It seems Shaggy is feeling the Christmas season this year as he recently released a 15 track Christmas album called Christmas In The Islands. He enlisted some top names in the genre for this project, including Beenie Man, Ding Dong, Bounty Killer, Junior Reid, Shenseea, Romain Virgo, Richie Stephens, Conkarah, Sanchez, OMI, Joss Stone, and Ne-Yo.

Through a press release at that time, Shaggy said, “We enlisted some of Jamaica’s leading, iconic artists to participate, and with guests like Ne-Yo and Joss Stone, who frequent Jamaica during the holiday season, we hope to transport listeners and share how we celebrate Christmas in the Islands!”

Every year Feliz Navidad features on the Billboard Hot 100 and has also become one of the most played and recorded Christmas songs around the world.

Romeich Addresses Backlash Over Shenseea’s Miami Event Dubbed COVID ‘Superspreader’

Shenseea’s manager Romeich is pushing back at critics for calling her recent Florida party performances ‘superspreader’ of the Covid-19 virus that has left more than 235,000 people dead and millions infect.

The “Blessed” artiste can be seen over the weekend, promoting various parties that she is performing at. Many videos of jam packed crowds and even a fan hugging the artiste were shared on her Instagram stories over the weekend.

The event Breeze hit the local news as reporters from ABC 10 News reported on the party as an example of why the state is experiencing high rates of covid, including deaths. The news report says the county that Shenseea visited, Miami Dade, had 7th highest rate of Covid spikes in that state.

But Romeich, in a Zip FM interview, says enforcing protocols is not his or his artiste’s responsibility.

“We’re artiste, we are management that we get booked, someone booked us for just for a show and we asked if it is ok if the show be kept in their area and they approve it,” Romeich said. “I don’t see we are doing anything illegal. First of all, the promoter got his permits as well as police officers were at this venue working. It is not our duty to let persons of a event follow protocol whether dem do a social distancing or wear their mask. That is the duty of the promoter.”

He added that his team adjusted their ways of operating since the pandemic started. “My duty is to promote my talent and let her perform for her fans and leave in a safe manner,” he continues. “Shenseea came almost at the close of the event. She performed, and walk straight into the venue, went straight to the stage, showtime started, another artiste performed, called her up and after she performed she left.”

He said the artiste has also stopped doing meet and greets as she normally did. “We normally come and do meet and greet and so but we stop,” Romeich added. “On her story, Shenseea can be seen performing, and she also shared snaps of the many gifts she received. Only one story that she reposted of fan hugging her showed her interacting closely with people.

Meanwhile, Romeich says the artiste have been booked for many other events in Atlanta, the Tri-State area.

He said that they were let into the United States with full disclosures to the authorities that they were in the country to perform and received no objections on that note. He added that he respects and abides by the laws, especially those in Jamaica, where parties remain banned.

Buju Banton & Kanye West Team Up To Donate Laptops To Kids In Jamaica

Buju Banton and Kanye West have joined forces to donate computers to kids in Jamaica.

Another Dancehall artist has joined the cause in Jamaica to help students with their online education. Veteran dancehall deejay Buju Banton through his Instagram account revealed that he gifted Jamaican students at two children’s homes computer devices. The donations were made through his foundation, the Buju Banton Foundation. According to the post, laptops were donated to each of the 40 boys at the Sunbeam Children’s Home in St Catherine. The other home, Mount Olivet Boys Home in Manchester received desktops from the foundation.

The donation was made with a contribution from American rapper Kanye West, who recently visited the island and was photographed spending time with Banton. They’re rumored to have an upcoming collaboration.

In the post, he said: “Friends of Buju Banton Foundation, We Thank You! Sunbeam Children’s Home gifted laptops for each boy at the facility. Mount Olivet Boy’s Home received desktop computers and chairs. Thanks Kanye West for contributing to our mission to improve the lives of at risk boys.

In first photo from left: Rosemary Duncan(Director, Buju Banton Foundation), Buju Banton(Reggae/Dancehall Icon & Philanthropist), Mr. Patrick Newman(Administrator, Mount Olivet Boy’s Home).”

Banton, through his foundation also donated his three-million-dollar cash prize from Jamaica’s Festival Song Competition to the Sunbeam Boys Home. Since returning to Jamaica following his incarceration, Banton has been doing a lot to try and help young people who want to pursue their studies but may not be able to because of financial restraints.

He also created a scholarship fund at his alma mater, Denham Town High School, earlier this year, where he was quoted as saying:

“I am proud of you. At your age, as a student at Denham Town High School, I recalled sometimes going without due to my family’s financial challenges. Despite this, I had great dreams and ambitions of a successful career as a musician and remained focused on that goal. Take all the subjects taught at school seriously, especially writing and accounting, as those will prepare you to successfully function in the working world.”

Russ – Congrats Freestyle Lyrics

Play this song

[Verse]
Yeah, the more beef than the less bread
Uh, quiet women give the best head
Rappers doin’ dope, went from trying to be like Hov’
Now they’d rather rock and roll and be like Led Zepp’
Linsanity the way I shocked the game
Momma hoppin’ out the Bentley, sister hoppin’ out the Range
Stop the blame for my entourage, just stop droppin’ names
And you gon’ stop getting dropped and mollywopped by the gang
Do your thang, just keep mе out of it
My money does gymnastics, man, I’m tryna make somе houses flip
The sound of shit hittin’ the fan turns me on
‘Cause I just been addicted to chaos since early on
I’ve surely gone off the ledge a couple times by now
Pandemic hit, rappers sellin’ sex right now
I don’t gangbang, but trust me, bro, I’m set right now
Real bosses don’t need to chase a check right now
It’s for the best right now, you go broke so you can wake up
You struggling, your labelhead is somewhere in Jamaica
Eatin’ jerk chicken, drinking Appleton rum
Fix your mind state, that’s when all the capital comes
Fake titties feel like rocks, I like the natural ones
I like a girl who gives me head without me asking for some
Way to step up to the plate and take initiative
Peace of mind, the only thing that’s on my Christmas list
Business is boomin’, Ruben, I ain’t stutter
My career ain’t reach its climax yet, I ain’t Usher
I’m not your brother ’cause we took a pic
You must be higher than when Snoop handed me kush to hit
Shush a bitch swiftly, shh, it’s me
I could teach you how to be a player, Chris Brickley
Pick me ass bitches on the timeline making Alfredo
Posting quotes they don’t live by, thinking they Plato
Y’all ain’t foolin’ anyone except the dumb ones
Whole game is Wayne, Drake, Future, Young Thug sons
I just skipped customs ’cause I took a jet
I’ma eat forever, I took equity, you took a check
Short term dough, not lookin’ past your nose
Lotta y’all don’t listen to Nipsey and it shows
You get around a bad bitch, you quick to make a post
I can tell you didn’t get pussy when you were broke
Me, I keep it on the low ’cause the mystique is player
I don’t care about the hate shit, I was sixteen with haters
Tryna diss me for paper, end up backfiring
We gon’ take your diamonds, make your eyes look like sapphires
But I’m tryna chill on the violence
Well connected, pressin’ rappers at wireless
Why you tryna fight me? You should try to fight your stylist and management
I can’t argue with people who think it’s fly to buy the mannequin
Low taste, don’t talk to me
Fuck a Uber, bitch, walk to me, show me that you want it
Yeah, I brag about tickets, plaques and ownership, sue me
Y’all brag about Moncler and Gucci on your body
So how come I’m the only one who gets called cocky?
As if rap isn’t braggadocios
At least what I brag about can get you bags
Instead of handin’ over cash to someone racist who just uses y’all for black promotion (Damn)
Way to stick it to the man
You really showed him by putting cash in his hand
Walked out the store then you post him on the ‘Gram
Now your fans are his fans

[Outro]
The cycle repeats, congrats, stupid

Shenseea Twerk On Masego In “Silver Tongue Devil” Visual

The official video for Masego and Shenseea’s “Silver Tongue Devil” has been released.

The official visuals for Masego and Shenseea’s “Silver Tongue Devil” have been released, and they are as stunning as their combination on the laid back African beat. The video was uploaded to YouTube earlier today, October 29, and within the first few hours had already gained more than 25 000 views with a lot of positive feedback from fans. There were a few concept videos before this one, and fans always responded, but it seems they got it right with the official release, which was shot in Jamaica.

The song is set to a catchy Afro-beat with Masego’s famous saxophone infused spin on music. The track is part of Masego’s upcoming concept EP and was produced by Grammy award-winning IzyBeats.

Masego announced that he wanted Shenseea on this particular song earlier this month. At the time of the announcement, he was quoted as saying: “You can’t miss her these days in Jamaica. All of my friends are always talking about Shenseea. I mean all of my close family out here are listening to her.” Masego lives in America but has Jamaican roots.

Shenseea also shared the news excitedly on her Instagram alongside a clip of the video. She said: “The Jamaican in me Do it for my Africans… @masego and I official music video is out now on youtube – “Silver Tongue Devil” go run it up issa vibe!” to which her manager, Romeich Major replied: “You have a big buzzzz.” That post has been viewed over 300, 000 times.

Imani H. – “The looks, the choreo, the chemistry, EVERYTHINGG.”

Kwazzi K – “Masego connecting with his Jamaican roots!! I love it.”

Masego recently revealed that Shenseaa’s team was very accommodating when he contacted them with his idea. He was also in Jamaica seeking collaboration with other Jamaican artists like Grammy-winning Koffee, Chronixx, and Stalk Ashley for his upcoming album. It’s all in line with his wish to explore his Jamaican roots.

Yungen – Chosen Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I don’t care what you read in some YouTube comments
I’m the guy in my ends
I’ve got BM’s doing the school run
Brucking their neck when I drive my Benz
My bro phoned me from the can
And he told me to mind my friends
Now it’s only fam I know Giggs relates
All I do is grind and spend
All I do is grind and stack
Ask Sneaky why I’m gassed
Ever since I come from Jamaica
I was getting cash
All I knew is pies and a mash
Fam ask dash, West End ting man splash
‘Dem girls said man’s flash
I was on the motorway with no licence
Doing one fifty and I nearly crashed (skrr)
‘Dem man popped up yesterday
Man can’t chat to me about tunes
Got big grime songs, big girl songs
Yeah I’ve got a big song for the goons
I used to shot a bit, I weren’t Scarface
Thank God that I never got boomed
The cats used to call me Alfie
That food would take them to the moon (moon, moon)
Raindrop, drop top
Your wifey connects to my hotspot
You don’t get gyal you’re a cockblock
I’m a shotta, Teddy Bruckshot
Yeah I go hard and that
Charting, still got bars and that
Had a browning called Carla
The only thing I missed is Carla’s back
Bang, we ain’t the same
You’re in a Astra, I’m in a Range
You’re just an actor, eff all the fame
I buss on the Tube but can’t get on the train
They love when I say it, they’re not in our lane
I’m done with the talking, done with the games
Sonny was sorting, chalking, testing his aim
Don’t call man’s names

[Hook]
Ridin’, rollin’
Drivin’, stolen
Wavey, ocean
Hate me, chosen
Ridin’, rollin’

Drivin’, stolen
Wavey, ocean
Hate me, chosen
Ridin’, rollin’
Drivin’, stolen
Wavey, ocean
Hate me, chosen
Ridin’, rollin’
Drivin’, stolen
Wavey, ocean
Hate me, chosen

[Verse 2]
Black whip, black jeans
Black crep, black hoodie
Black bottles, black models
I’m paid in full ways, boogie
From a council estate to the sticks
My bro Lou will ride for me fully
And he’s got so many toy stories
I ain’t gotta ask Woody
It’s been a light year
I got my buzz back
She wanna bang, f*ck that
Course does road, he loves trap
In the bando like “where the drugs at?”
In the Batmobile like it’s Gotham
I want the teeth, now a man’s flossing
Got mo’ stacks than a whole block popping
No night nurse can save from the coffin
Duck the evil, I bought pinkies
For my people
Roll up had the whole block froze up
When we skrr round in that black Beetle
Call me Gucci Mane, I mean Gucci man
Feral in the hood, Gucci man
Peng ting, stupid brain
After we f*ck, don’t use my name (oh no)
Where you been (huh?)
You waffle, you don’t get cream
Levi got a number one for the team
He told us man that winner’s in the genes
Everything clean, 20 racks in the supreme
Us man really do green
Got Alexandra in the whip
She don’t wanna be seen
She knows she can’t be my queen (haha)

[Hook]
Ridin’, rollin’
Drivin’, stolen
Wavey, ocean
Hate me, ch-ch-chosen
Ridin’, rollin’
Drivin’, stolen
Wavey, ocean
Hate me, cho-chosen
Ridin’, rollin’
Drivin’, stolen
Wavey, ocean
Hate me

(To thank you, to thank you)
(To thank you, to thank you)

[Verse 1: Tory Lanez]
Keep it real, this how I’m comin’ in it from the jump
You’re so beautiful, I kiss and hit it from the front
Take you everywhere with me ’cause I love to stunt
Money everywhere, baby, ’cause you love to stunt
Hit the strip club with me, make ten G’s
We’ll be runnin’ up the bag ’til it empties
Got a temper ’cause she bad, don’t tempt me
Shawty, I’m a different man off the Hennessy
Tryna hit it so good you remember me
Pussy good like
Fuckin’ your body, I let it go down
I make it ring like the Neptunes song
You hold it down like a stunner, you done cleaned that
You hold it down every summer in Celine bag
Oh, when you’re givin’ me love, you never keep that
You never give me enough, knowin’ I need that
We gon’ fuck up the sheets, send ’em to the cleaners
We might smoke weed on the way and catch a misdemeanor
I’m a young nigga that wanna get with you and beat it
My ex hate when I’m with you, it’s gettin’ her heated

[Chorus: Tory Lanez]
‘Cause you’re so beautiful
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Said you’re beautiful
Oh, oh, oh

[Verse 2: Snoop Dogg]
What can I say to you that you ain’t never heard?
I’m breakin’ it down, shawty, I’m talkin’ ’bout every word
Observe how I splizz-erve, slick like a iceberg (What?)
Cold with the wizz-ords and lit like my izz-erd (Ah)
Of course it all matters if you with it or not
‘Cause if you don’t, you won’t, but if you get it, you got
Ain’t nothin’ wrong with this, now peep it out
And if it’s too hard, then go ahead and bleep it out
See, I’ma tell you what I see ’cause what I see is all I know
I’ll wrap you up with a bow, lay you out on the floor
And let Tory tell the story ’cause you know how it go
Then hit the switch in my blue ’64, mmh-mmh

[Chorus: Tory Lanez]
Beautiful
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Said you’re beautiful
Oh, oh

[Verse 3: Tory Lanez]
You know how to let me know if I done enough
Touch down in it, put them numbers up
You wanna leave ’cause he don’t make you cum enough
Well, guess what? I’m the next runner-up
Big bank, baby, and I spend it all on you
Fuck it up in here, that’s what we ought to do
A lot of options, I could call ’em through
I switch her option like an audible
Bentley Bentayga, girl, you gets paper
They be pocket watchin’ the money you get paid
I wanna fly you to the sand in Jamaica
You damaged your makeup, still managed to make it, yeah
Humble as ever, but stunt with the cheddar, yeah
You grind with me, we gon’ come up together, yeah
Pretty days, we gon’ stunt it together
‘Cause the Rolls Royce I drive, it come with umbrellas
I don’t talk no shit ’cause I just back that shit up
I’ma flip lil’ shawty like the spatula
I’ma sink my teeth in it deep, Dracula
Pretty Rick when I hit it, have you spectacular, uh

[Chorus: Tory Lanez]
Beautiful
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Said you’re beautiful
Oh, oh, oh
Yeah

[Outro]
Something about you
There’s something about you (To thank you, to thank you)
There’s something about you (To thank you, to thank you)
(To thank you, to thank you)
(To thank you, to thank you)
(To thank you, to thank you), beautiful
(To thank you, to thank you), I just wanted you

iLoveMakonnen – I REMEMBER Lyrics

I just, think about all my past times
Get on these fuckin’ tracks and make these words rhyme
I don’t even sell no dimes, cause I do not have no time
But I used to reminisce when me and my homies was on the grind
All the time, tryna shine cause we need them new things
Now a boy got pinky rings, switching lanes with 6 chains
I don’t even give a fuck, used to have a black truck
All the way in zip codes that I do not go no mo
Oh shit, I got shows every motherfuckin’ weekend
Me and my best friends ain’t fuckin’ speakin
‘
Got friends from down under arrivin’ in the morning
Tell ’em that Makonnen is the best thing goin
Worldwide, now you know it, finally I can show it
Young boy in the city lookin’ like I’m fuckin’ growin’
All the way with the moon, ocean sun when it be snowin
‘
I don’t know how I got it, I’m so thankful for the flowin’
My friends, once again, when they come back around
I remember all night, we was sellin’ that brown
To some motherfuckin’ junkies, I was actin’ like a monkey
Swingin’ off them god damn trees
Makin’ hunnid of them things
All damn night with the white, now a nigga barely see
Any type of fuckin’ drugs, who the fuck is me?
I just once was a young boy, on the fuckin’ corner
Sellin’ all this dope from Atlanta to California
And now I brought it back all the way to the West
Cuz them niggas in the East said that I was one of the best
So I’m like, let me go, see if the rumors true
When I step off in the room, niggas be mad at who?
When I step in studios, niggas tryna sound like who, now
God damn, I ride around in black fuckin’ coupes now
Don’t even need to pick it up
Nigga come deliver me
Feel like i’m dominos the way they fucking playing me
Oh shit is a game
Nigga love my last name
Girls want my last name
I switch them with my last game
Hit em with some new shit
Like how the fuck he do it
I remember being in church staring at the pool pissed
Like goddamn that water could make me feel stronger
Then i see that preacher daughter get killed by a gang banger
On the fucking corner and em girls was out here singing songs
Bout sweet jesus and how he was gon come back home
Put my whole family on as they fucking waiting
Niggas on the east side out here still hating
Cause they know that i’m great when i’m came from the south
Now i’m hottest in the north ain’t shit else to talk bout
I’m like damn Uncle Sam who the fuck is donald trump
These niggas done fucked up
Presidents be going up
Now the life in america is all about the money have no time for no jokes
Man ain’t seeing shit funny when my friends fucking dying and drugs fucking colliding everyday in communities
Bitches wanna do me
Niggas out here shooting bullets when we riding pass i’m like oh shit what happened i forgot about my dad
Cause that nigga did me wrong way back in ‘96 now i’m feeling like a bad dog
Looking like michael vick
Out here switching fucking teams can’t find my fucking path
I’m on the fucking road feeling so damn glad
That i have fucking twice another day at life
I remember last week when i felt like a bum
Shit be fucking popping now like a nigga is bubble gum
I remember being so broke i couldn’t afford no bubble yum
Now i’m see now and laters riding around in the latest jaguars supercars saying i’m a super star
And my mom came to my release
Thank god for warner but
Man i never swore that i would leave california
When i was young i felt dumb thought i had to be gang banging
Out here fucking slanging drugs but now all these songs i’m singing
I can’t think about no hook
History about these books all i know is fucking dope fiends and a few crooks that fucking switch they ways off in the usa
Now i feel like gps when i’m using that waze
In the app i can snap on any fucking rap but a nigga hate on me at the same time give me dap
I used to be a young fool now i’m feeling smarter
Goddamn thank god im feeling like a scholar
Didn’t go to college unless it was for beauty
Now the girls love me they want me out in movies
I done sign a stupid deal with a new agency
Hope they put me on a fucking tv show on channel E
Goddamn i’m entertaining oh shit ain’t complaining
Cause the money that i’m making is enough to buy jamaica uh
I love it but sometimes i dont uh
I think i’ll stay but sometimes i won’t
I swear that i should leave what’s is up my sleeve
Everybody hating, hating on me
So i fly all the time when i look at the moon
I remember being home making songs in my room
But now i fly all the time and i stare at the moon
I remember when i was young making songs in my room
But now i fly all the time and i stare at the moon
I remember making all these songs back in my room
But now i fly all the time and i stare at the moon
I remember making songs in my room

With my dogs little two pit bulls
Man one of them just died i swear this shit ain’t cool
I been hurting so bad i can’t even call my dad
Thank god i got my mom hope that she ain’t feeling sad
Bout them rumors going round in the town
What they saying that i’m fucking new asian that i’m looking like satan
All i’m doing is K and the coke all night
I’m like momma no i’m not but she know i sold that white
So it might not sound to fucking far fetch
Plus you losing all this weight
Man you looking kinda sick
I’m like man no i’m not i be running in the morning
I’m practicing for the world stage so i can put a show on that is as good as beyoncé
Look for my fiancé
Retire off this rap shit
Chillin in a bungalow
Goddamn dont need no hoes
I just need the fucking cash
I remember being broke couldn’t afford fucking the dash
That’s the of us that be riding on western ave
I remember being down there crying for my dad
He like fuck you im leaving
I was out there weeping
Now i’m the man from akron to Cleveland
And beyond doing songs you know i can fucking snap
I be out here looking in the audience waiting for claps
But these niggas don’t give me claps
They just give me stank eye
So i’ve hit them with that whip
Cook that chicken one time
Now your girl said she wanna meet a kid backstage
I know what she really want just to hit it backstage and fuck around and break a condom so she could have my child and when a nigga fall off she said that i ain’t shit now
But i never will fall off cause i never got on
I’m the same little kid making songs in my room
Now when i fucking fly i just stare at the room at the moon in my room
At the same time im feeling like a bride and a groom
Why won’t somebody come and marry me
I been smoking all night i should fucking pay the fee to the goddamn smokers club weight i be be going up
Goddamn nobody fuck with me since i haven’t been going up on a fucking tuesday but i got new news today
I can make plenty songs slow it down anyway
All in the usa they know that i’m leaving soon
I remember making songs staring at the moon in my room
Now when i fly i just stare at the moon cause i remember making songs in my room
Now when i fly i just stare at the moon
Cause i remember being alone
Just making these songs in my room
Making these songs in my room
I remember being alone in my room
Starting at the moon

Migos – Intro Lyrics

[Intro: Takeoff]
My weed from Jamaica, my money older than Sega
Bust it open, then wait up, tell m, work out, then re-up

[Hook: Takeoff]
My diamonds sparkling, I be like the sargent
Pull up in the Astin Martin, leave in a Burperry carpet
Migo the label, but no no playing with paper
My shirt tiger striped, my shoes aligater
With the plug, never see it
Wip them chickens and pidgens, cokina and midgets, touch it, I flip it

[Verse 1: Takeoff]
I remembered in school, teacher talkin bout history
I was tryna make history, up in that house in Beverly
I just called my jeweller, tell him bring me my rolly
In that muscle car, 12 pull me over for flexin

[Verse 2: Quavo]
I got sweet and sour chicken, lemon, go get me some beef
I got soldiers in the streets, I’m commander and chief
When the Js hit the dope, I bet those nose bleed
I got a plug from Mixico, and one plug that’s chinese
Bad bitch on my team, do whatever I please
Thick thais, brown eyes, she finesse you with eze
Think the jeweller got me sick, a chew, I sneez
Someone get me a key, I’ll just rest in peace
Last nigga try to jump, left him deceased
Then we dumped him in the river, body still won’t be seen

[Verse 3: Offset]
I’m a cool individual, selling dope, that’s my principle
Young like the siminals, baking soda a chemical
I done made it out vakent, had to lie on David
Keep the pistol like Peet, and keep the knife like I’m Jason
I ain’t Gigga for nothing, tell m fishing for money
Gotta bumblebee building, me and my crew, that’s some hundreds
Took the truck to Bahamas, pick the plug up from London
I be sellin so many fishes, call me Offset Benny Hanna
And the 9 is my ratchet, trappin and stampin on matress
Singing Tony Braxtin, and they all wet like napkins
Biggest bitches, I’m cravin, got that dope, so come taste it
No, my swag is not basic, pull up with a strap, no laces

[Verse 1: Nicki Minaj]
Ayo, if I’m in the Gurkha, then they in the back of it
If I tell ’em eat food, then they make a snack of it
If they take your cocaine then they make a crack of it
If they grab your gold chain then they make a plaque of it
Know we never lack on it, run up with the MAC on it
Put a couple racks on it, they gon’ put the whack on it
She got the Nicki bundles, word to Stack on it
That’s word to Brooknam, that’s word to Bucktown
That’s word to Harlem World, shout out to uptown
You know I shine on ’em, I spray sheen on ’em
That’s word to southside, Jamaica, Queens on ’em
I’m mad Queens on ’em, with mad schemes on ’em
I never scale back, the triple beams on ’em
My ice gleams on ’em, Wu-Tang creams on ’em
I pull up on the block bumpin’ Biggie “Dreams” on ’em
A nigga greased on ’em, but I freezed on ’em
I light breezed on ’em, I might breeze on ’em
Might do it like it’s Christmas and light trees on ’em
I see the copycats bitin’ my steez on ’em

[Chorus: Nicki Minaj]
Yo, he got me like a coco, yeah la coco
Ellas quieren coco, y yo tampoco
Never trust a broke hoe, don’t fuck with po-po

Sting and Shaggy Teams Up On “Don’t Make Me Wait”

Legendary singer Sting teams up with Shaggy for his new single “Don’t Make Me Wait.”

The singer and the dancehall legend are currently working on their joint album 44/876, due later this year. The romantic ballad features Sting belting out his famous vocals about wanting to be with a girl but don’t want her to feel pressured. “I don’t want you to think I’m rushing you, I know you like to take your time, I’m already sold on the idea of you and I,” the British crooner sings.

Shaggy came through with his gravel voice over a reggae beat singing, “Nothing wrong with waiting a little bit, you know this is to me more than just hitting it, but you only get a love like this once in a lifetime, and if this is our chance I ain’t missing it.”

Sting is currently in Jamaica with the reggae/dancehall legend working on the album. He also performed at the annual Shaggy and Friends benefit concert in Kingston earlier this month and prior to that he visited the Bustamante Hospital for Children for a tour. He compared the atmosphere at the children’s hospital to that of a warm village.

Shaggy confirmed last month that the pair has a joint album in the works but he couldn’t divulge too much information about it. “We have something working on, but I can’t say anything right now,” he said. “We recently did a song that I had written. His manager heard the song and he played it. Afterwards Sting walked in and began to sing the hook.” The album is now in its advanced state with over a dozen songs already recorded. Last week we saw him posted a photo of the two in the studio with dancehall deejay Aidonia hinting that the 4th Genna leader might be featured on the project.

Shenseea Eyes Pop Music Plans To Expand Her Brand

Shenseea eyes a career as an international pop star.

Jamaica produced the most music per capita in the world and dancehall is currently expanding into markets globally like never before. In fact, some of the biggest hip hop and pop songs of the last two years are of dancehall origins, so when Shenseea says she wants to expand her brand into pop, she may be on to something. The young dancehall hitmaker has been seeing a steady climb in her career under the stewardship of Romiech but she is far from complacent.

“By next year I want to be international, and when I say that, I don’t mean just as a dancehall artiste, but an international pop star who incorporates the dancehall culture and my accent while majoring in pop music, because that is my first love,” Shenseea said.

Rihanna started her career as a reggae-pop artist before broadening her career as a full-fledged pop artist and today she is one of the biggest pop stars in history and one of the most influential women in music and fashion currently. Nicki Minaj also injects a bit of patois in some of her music from time to time.

Shenseea is currently getting ready to release her first pop single “Love I Got For U.” The track was produced by Miami-based producers Unified Pacific Entertainment and she recently shot the video with director Jason ‘Jay Will’ Williams. “So for me, actually going in that direction I think I will have a great impact as well. And this whole production is a step towards it … (the) video is loud on a different level,” the “Loodi” deejay said.

The single will be released on all digital platforms in the coming days and the video will also make its debut on the same day.

Usher and Don Corleone Team Up On New Single “Pressure”

Usher taps dancehall power producer Don Corleone for his new single “Pressure.”

The link-up between the R&B singer and the producer was put together by producer Rico Love, according to Don Corleone. The two met for the first time at the famous AfterMaster Recording & Mastering Studios in Hollywood, CA. “I got a call from Rico Love (an American producer) one night asking me if I could come to a studio in Hollywood, California and be prepared to work,” Corleone said.

“I went to the studio and to my surprise, Usher was in the studio. So, Rico said let me play something for you and he played me this demo that he did,” the producer added. “It has only a few keys on it, so he then asked if I could make it fire with that dancehall sound. I made it on spot and it took me like five minutes to complete it.”

Don added that Usher loved what he heard and Rico Love then suggested that they include a female dancehall artist on the track. Corleone said he made it happen but can’t disclose the name of the female artist who will be on the track, but there are already some rumors that it’s dancehall newcomer Shenseea. “We recorded her the next day at Hitmaker Studio in Kingston… When Usher and Rico heard it, they both loved it,” he revealed.

Don Corleone is the first Jamaican based producer to produce a song for Usher which makes it a big achievement. Dancehall music has been reshaping the sound of mainstream pop and hip hop over the past two years and more established artists are now looking to Jamaica to get the authenticity of that sound. Justin Bieber, who was discovered by Usher, dabbled in dancehall for his last album, and we’ve seen artists like Drake, Rihanna, Tory Lanez, and Chris Brown all release dancehall influenced singles.

The artist broke the news on social media last weekend telling his fans that he was held up by two gunmen in the Tower Hill area of ST. Andrew. He said that the men took US$500, JM$30,000, a laptop, phones, and his passport.

Toddlers says he doesn’t care about the cash, but is more interested in getting back his passport so that he can travel to fulfill his contractual obligations overseas as an entertainer. He also said that he has a bunch of unreleased music on the stolen laptop and is pleading with criminals to return the computer and his passport. “If the man them can just run back the passport and the laptop, I don’t care about the money,” he said. The artist said the money was for his daughters who are living overseas.

“Jah know star as a artist mi can’t even move around in my own country,” he added. Over the last few months, dancehall artists Mineral Boss and Unicorn were shot and killed in separate incidents in Jamaica. The local entertainment fraternity is currently on edge over the targeting of artists.
