China extends its cryptocurrency ban to banks
China has banned crypto exchanges and initial coin offerings but has not barred individuals from holding cryptocurrencies.
A cryptocurrency, crypto-currency, or crypto is certainly a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange wherein individual coin ownership records are stored in a ledger existing in a form of a computerized database using strong cryptography to secure transaction records, to control the creation of additional coins, and to verify the transfer of coin ownership. It typically does not exist in physical form (like paper money) and is typically not issued by a central authority. Cryptocurrencies typically use decentralized control as opposed to centralized digital currency and certain central banking systems.
China tightens ban on cryptocurrencies
China banned financial institutions and payment companies from providing services related to cryptocurrency transactions, in the latest blow to digital currencies and their market leader bitcoin.
China reports rover’s first drive on Mars
China certainly said that the Martian rover took a first drive on surface of Red Planet. A remote-controlled Chinese motorized rover drove down the ramp of its landing capsule on Saturday and onto the surface of planet Mars, making China the first nation to orbit, land and deploy a land vehicle on its inaugural mission to the Red Planet.
Planet Mars is certainly the fourth planet from the Sun and the second-smallest planet in the Solar System, being larger than only Mercury. In English, Mars carries the name of the Roman god of war and is often referred to as the “Red Planet.”

Sky News Australia shows that Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin have recorded stunning falls in value overnight as panic selling kicks into high gear.
Sky News contributor Peter Switzer said he had trouble explaining the rise and fall of Bitcoin and labelled it one of the “most speculative” forms of punting.
“I can see Bitcoin surviving all this but given the fact that China basically said they don’t want to deal with businesses that are using bitcoin,” he said.
Bitcoin fell below the US$40,000 mark on Wednesday to a 3 month low. Prices of varius other digital coins also fell much. This happened after China imposed fresh restrictions on transactions involving cryptocurrencies.
It seems that the news from China caused Bitcoin to fall as low as US$38,514, for a 9% fall.

The cryptocurrency fell nearly 40% from a record high of $64,895 hit on April 14.
It is also interesting that every industry has an “energy usage.” Bitcoin’s energy use is actually less than banking sectors and gold sectors. It is easy to criticize Bitcoin’s energy usage, but these critiques are rarely used for other traditional industries.
It is interesting that energy usage analysis can be done in real time with resources such as the Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index. It shows rising energy usage beginning in late-2020, as bitcoin’s price skyrocketed.
It is estimated that the global energy consumption of the banking system is 238.92 TWh per year.

China spacecraft makes successful landing on Mars
DW News shows that China has landed a spacecraft on Mars. This is the latest step in its ambitious space program. The Chinese rover will stay in its lander for a few days of tests before exploring the Red Planet. The rover has yet to send back any images from Mars, but here’s the story of how it got there – and what the mission aims to find out.
The name Tianwen means “Heavenly Questions” or “questions to heaven” or “quest for heavenly truth”, and comes from the long poem of the same name written by Qu Yuan (c. 340-278 BC), a poet of ancient China.
Tianwen-1 (TW-1; simplified Chinese: 天问; traditional Chinese: 天問 ) is certainly an interplanetary mission by the China National Space Administration (CNSA) to send a robotic spacecraft to Mars, consisting of an orbiter, deployable camera, lander and the Zhurong rover. The spacecraft, with a total mass of nearly 5 tons, is one of the heaviest probes launched to Mars and carries 13 scientific instruments.
The scientific objectives of the mission relate to the geology of Mars, the current and past presence of water, the internal structure of the planet, identification of minerals and rock types on the surface, as well as characterization of the space environment and atmosphere of Mars.
At 23:18 UTC, on 14 May 2021, the Tianwen-1 lander successfully landed in the preselected landing area in the southern part of the Mars Utopia Planitia. The planet landing phase began with the release of the protective capsule containing the lander/rover. The capsule made an atmospheric entry followed by a descent phase under parachute, after which the lander used retro-propulsion to soft-land on Mars.
The lander had a “treacherous journey” through the Martian atmosphere.
This is certainly a major triumph for China’s space ambitions, and the culmination of years of hard work.
This is a key event for the China Aerospace and Technology Corporation.
This is the China’s first rover landing on another planet.
The icy area of Mars known as “Utopia Planitia” was formed by the violent impact of an asteroid about 4 billion years ago. Past space probes have discovered large amounts of frozen water under the surface here.
China: New Space Station
The Tiangong Space Station (Chinese: 天宫 ‘Heavenly Palace’) or Chinese large modular space station is a space station placed in low Earth orbit between 340-450 km above the surface. The Tiangong Space Station will be roughly one-fifth the mass of the International Space Station and about the size of the decommissioned Russian Mir space station. The Tiangong is expected to have a mass between 80 and 100 t (180,000 and 220,000 lb). Operations will be controlled from the Beijing Aerospace Command and Control Center in China. The core module, the Tianhe (“Harmony of the Heavens”), launched on 29 April 2021.
The construction of the station will manifest the 3rd phase of the Tiangong program. It builds on the experience gained from its precursors, Tiangong-1 and Tiangong-2. Chinese leaders hope that research conducted on the station will improve researchers’ ability to conduct science experiments in space, beyond the duration offered by China’s existing space laboratories.
The Chinese large modular space station is designed to be used for 10 years which could be extended to 15 years and will accommodate 3 astronauts.
With the core module deployed and stocked, China will launch 3 taikonauts to live on the CSS. The launch is expected to take place in June 2021. This crewed mission, named Shenzhou-12, will be China’s 7th, and the first since the Shenzhou-11 mission in 2016.
China is seeking to enhance its capacity for scientific and technological innovation by building the large modular space station.
Chinese rocket debris to cause limited damage, expert predicts
Global News shows that the remnants of China’s largest rocket launched last week are expected to plunge back through the atmosphere – this will be dropping the equivalent of 3 pickup trucks or a small plane late Saturday or early Sunday, an expert said.
Long March 5B, the Chinese rocket, is equivalent in size to an unloaded semi-truck and weighs roughly 22 tons (as much as nine tons of material) and is expected to survive, Ted Muelhaupt, principal director of The Center for Orbital and Reentry Debris Studies (Cords) at the Aerospace Corporation, said.
The space debris will likely fall into the ocean. However, China has had 2 uncontrolled re-entries in the space of a year.
“There was enough reaction to the last one last May – most people thought they (China) would have learned their lesson and not done it again, but apparently they have,” Muelhaupt said.
The Long March 5B is one of the largest pieces of space debris to return to Earth. The core stage of the first Long March 5B that returned to Earth last year weighed nearly 20 tons, surpassed only by debris from the Columbia space shuttle in 2003, the Soviet Union’s Salyut 7 space station in 1991, and NASA’s Skylab in 1979.
The so-called Long March 5 (LM-5; Chinese: 长征五号 ) is also known as Chang Zheng 5 (CZ-5). This is a Chinese heavy-lift launch vehicle developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT). It is the first Chinese launch vehicle designed to use exclusively non-hypergolic liquid propellants. It is the 5th iteration of the Long March rocket family, named for the Chinese Red Army’s 1934-35 Long March, during the Chinese Civil War.

Tekashi 6ix9ine didn’t message Nas X once, but on two separate occasions and both times, he did not get a response which probably hurts. Most of the rappers in the game right now are ignoring him. The first message was sent on October 8th last year saying, “Yo.” The second message was sent on February 16th saying, “Gonna be in ya city soon what you doing lol?”
On both occasions, Lil Nas X left the messages on read. Russian Firm Rosneft Sells All Assets in Venezuela
Rosneft is a massive Russian Petroleum Refining Company. The official company website is rosneft.com. Rosneft Oil Company is a Russian integrated energy company headquartered in Moscow. Rosneft specializes in the exploration, extraction, production, refinement, transport, and sale of petroleum, natural gas, and petroleum products. The stock of the company is ROSN (MCX).
Recently, it seems that Russia has loosened its reins on Rosneft. The Russian government no longer has a majority stake in Rosneft for the first time in the huge company’s 27-year history.
On March 28, Rosneft announced that it had sold all of its assets in Venezuela. This was part of a deal with the wholly government-owned company, Rosneftegaz. This means that Russia’s Rosneft exited Venezuela. The halt in activities in Venezuela comes after being hit by U.S. trade sanctions. However, Russia remains an important partner to Caracas. The interests sold by Rosneft include joint ventures of Petromonagas, Petroperija, Boqueron, Petromiranda and Petrovictoria and oil-field services companies, commercial and trading operations.
Russia, China and Cuba are some of the main allies of Venezuela’s leader President Nicolas Maduro. However, USA sanctions against the leader’s regime had put Rosneft under increasing pressure.
BP holds a 19.75% stake in Rosneft. The cooperation between Rosneft and international oil major BP is effective. BP (British Petroleum) is a multinational oil and gas company headquartered in London, England. It is one of the world’s 7 oil and gas “supermajors.” BP has had its 30th anniversary of its presence in Russia.
The Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic certainly has a major impact on the oil market. Good news from China (about slowing of the virus spread) creates more optimism. Isolation and distancing of humans is helping to stop the spread of the virus. Financial analysts should not exaggerate the virus problem in their minds. A fifth case of the coronavirus illness COVID-19 has been confirmed in Ontario, Canada. The woman in her 60s, who had been in Iran recently, went to hospital in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) on Monday.
The COVID-19 coronavirus is spreading more quickly in Europe, the Middle East, and other parts of the world than in China. The virus initially emerged in the central city of Wuhan at the end of last year.

India has created a fascinating plan to transform itself into a $5 trillion economy over the next 5 years. That would actually take the 2nd most populous country in the world into 3rd spot after the United States and China.
The GDP of India in 2019 was $2.972 trillion. It will not be an easy task to accomplish the $5 trillion plan. The country has problems like high unemployment, farm crisis and rising trade tensions. Growth has been slowing. The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi says concerns have been addressed.
30 years ago, the Indian and Chinese economies were comparable. Today, they are different. China’s GDP and per capita income are nearly 5 times those of India. Meanwhile, India’s economy has problems. India GDP growth today is the lowest it has been in 6 years.
Alibaba Stock Price probably will continue to rise in 2020
Alibaba Stock Price can probably continue its powerful rise in 2020. Most likely, it can last a long time. It has been an interesting run for Alibaba (阿里巴巴) (NYSE:BABA). The trade negotiations between USA and China really weighed on the stock. The success of the company is impressive. Alibaba is up almost 50% over the past year. This good performance is similar to names like Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) and Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG).
Think about the risks. Consider this, the Nasdaq Composite fell about 20% from peak to trough in the 4th quarter. It bottomed about this time last year. These stocks were not going very high a year ago. BABA is actually only up about 22% over the past 24 months. It certainly seems this stock can have a good future in 2020 and 2021. Alibaba is an interesting stock to invest in. But also keep in mind, USA investors are more familiar with Google, Apple or Amazon.
